Planescape: Torment remains my favorite.

As to your question, the name is Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix.

I'm a war game aficionado (kinda weird for a Tokimemo fanatic ), so my vote goes to two recent games: Ghost Recon and IL-2 Sturmovik. Maybe RTCW will make it to my shortlist too.

I am so going to have to agree with Ryos that Planescape: Torment is one of the awesomest games available out there. I just find it a pity that there probably won't be anything anywhere near that cool available for a long time. Alice is another game that I rate as really cool as well. And the original Zork just for this line "It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue."

At the moment, RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN. If you were a diehard fanatic of the first one (the gfx were horrible tho), you'll like this one. Others that would make it to my list would be DIABLO II+LOD Expansion, GIANTS: CITIZEN KABUTO (yoo gunna luv this one, mate! Troi it!),AQUANOX, UNREAL TOURNAMENT and QUAKE III.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for PC versions of MGS2:SOL and FFX.

Max Payne, superb Finnish quality... ( just had to )
It gets boring to the end but the comics strips are the essence that keeps the game up (At least I think so...)

The best PC games I've played:

First-person shooter: Soldier of Fortune, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament

Third-person shooter: Max Payne

Real-time strategy: C&C Red Alert 2, Starcraft

Space simulator: FreeSpace 2, FreeSpace, Descent 3

My favourites I've highlighted in bold. The best PC game overall (for me) would have to be FreeSpace 2, followed closely by Max Payne and SOF (tie for second).

I can recommend Medal of honor: Allied Assault

As for my personal favourites:
eracer, nfs4 and nfs5
all racing games

I'm currently playing motoracer 3 a lot, which is also quite a good game.
