Ps3 60GB model.

Aside from ebay, are there any reliable places to get the now-discontinued 60Gb ps3? I'm wanting to buy one, but I would vastly prefer the backwards compatibility that sony no longer offers.

Ebay isn't even really that reliable. If you get cheated sometimes there isn't much you can do.

I do not agree. Ebay isn't reliable most of the time for uncareful people. If you know what you are doing, you'll rarely have or even never have problems.

I as well as others have been cheated by sellers with several year history and 98-99.5% approval rating. When they have 20,000 approvals, slipping in a couple dubious sales isn't going to hurt their rating.

I bought a AthlonXP 3000 on ebay, it came with a free thermal take volcano 11.

It differed slightly from other volcano 11's in that the connector for the fan speed was hardwired, thus improving volt flow allowing for a higher peak rpm speed.

A PS3 with full BC is like... ultra rare. Not only is it easy to modify that console to play all PS and PS2 games from all regions (no ****, and since it can scale, you're not limited by TV format at all, be it PAL or NTSC), it's also capable of playing backups and some PS and PS2 homebrews as well.

If you can find one on eBay, chances are the price will be high... very high.

The 60GB PS3 is perfect for BC. It's can play around the 90% range of PS2 games. There's still quite a handful that don't work, even on that model, so make sure the games you plan on playing do work on it before ordering.

And Ebay isn't bad. If the seller doesn't deliver or lives up to his sale, open a dispute. It's annoying and could take awhile, but you will eventually get your money back.
