I Just Got An XBOX360!

Yep. Just got one tonight. I already have a Wii, but I'm mainly getting this for the first person shooters, online multiplayer that the XBOX 360 is known for (which is what the Wii kind of lacks, plus my friends have been wanting me to get an XBOX 360 so that we can play together), M rated games, better graphics, and some of the titles that I have been looking forward to playing since they are not available on the Wii. In total, I spent about $400 for the Arcade version, extra wired controller, 50 ft. ethernet cable, 12 month subscription to XBOX Live, and 3 used games (buy two get one free). The games that I got are Call of Duty 4, Dead Rising, and F.E.A.R. All I need now is a headset now. I seem to be happy with it so far. If anyone has any of those games or wants to add me as a friend, I go by the handle TheCloudOfSmoke (easy to remember).

I also just recently bought my sister an arcade system and it works an absolute treat and it was super cheap (around $390AUD with halo 3, gotham 4 and Viva Pinata Party animals included with the bundle).

Now all you need is an 80inch lcd and you're set. Also nice set of games that you got there. Call of Duty 4 was incredible and Dead Rising kept me entertained for around a good solid year. Killing masses of zombies has never been better.

I kinda want one, I hate seeing games that I wanna play either take 6+ months to come to PC (or sometime, simply NOT come, which is lame like hell), come with horrible DRM, and being able to play without worrying about my fps or bugs or some weird crash because of some hardware incompatibilities..

Took mine shortly under 3 years and they just gave me a new one when I sent it in. Had a working XBox back in a week. I was impressed.

360 not for me, but I might coerce my person into getting a PS3, once it's ripped open and friendlier to use (the bd-live thing is something too undesirable for everyone)

Damn I haven't brought a good console in ages now! Really want to get a good one! But my love of mouse + keyboard control will always force me to upgrade my PC instead

I have a laptop, so PC gaming is a no go for me since I can't upgrade my laptop. Plus, laptops usually last me no more than a year for some reason (probably since I use it frequently, I have had 4 laptop die on me after about a year of usage), so investing in a gaming laptop is not something worth investing in. I'll be damned if I spend hundreds upgrading a desktop PC also (plus, as I said, I like mobility). So getting an XBOX 360 is ideal for me since I can play those new current-gen games without out all of the fuss and hassle of keeping up with the latest computer hardware.

This is what helped my in my decisions in getting an XBOX 360. It is made to be a joke, but it is entirely true.

You must not have any friends at all HCR. You don't like anything. Tell me something that you do like HCR and then we'll talk.

Lol. 80"? Maybe once I hit the lottery. I have a 27" TV in the family room which I play my consoles on. The only gripe that I have with the games on the XBOX 360 so far is that the text in everything is microscopic, even on a 27"!. On the Wii, everything is readable. I couldn't imagine trying to read text on a 13" TV.

As long as it brings you hours of joy and happiness before it burns out and turns you into a clinically insane homocidal TCOD (The Cloud of Death)

..............slightly unwarranted, and significantly incorrect. lolcats and joke pics hardly are the best of oracles, despite their entertainment factor.

Salutations. Sadly, I don't use Live, so...
But maybe I'll think about it, and when I'm there, I'll definitely join the bunch.

Oh yeah, and tip for XBox360: put her on a metal surface with lots of holes, or stand her up and have a fan blowing directly into her, or stay in a cold room. My machine hasn't died out on me for almost a year now... thanks to that. The previous ones died just after half a year.
