Protips:

1. Don't put it in an entertainment center that has no room for the 360's exhaust to blow out.
2. No carpet!
3. Make sure it has plenty of room to take in/blow out air.
4. Take breaks every now and then while gaming so it can cool down.

That'd void your warranty though.

They don't require a HDD, I think you can download game updates to the memory unit. If you have a 512MB card and you you don't download alot, you should be fine.

Oh, and here is a revised version of the chart from a few pages ago

So you actually have to physically stop playing for a good 30 minutes so your system can cool down? That's pretty retarded.

You can buy cooler attachments for xbox 360s that attach onto the back. They block the hdmi port, so you'll be using component cables and add noise to the already fairly loud system.

Compensate this by wearing headphones.

Stop trying to scare TCOS. Play as long as you want. The warranty is there for a reason.

(Warranty doesn't cover damages relating to hitting my mother from the back. Sorry TCOS)

My Xbox 360 is on most of the time when I am at home. It isn't playing games but it works as a Media unit, streaming videos from my PC or playing DVDs.

I really don't understand what people do to kill their Xbox 360s.

Videogames are obliviously much more stressful on the console. The flagship developers usually attempt to develope titles utilizing the system close to its max.

Utilizing it as a media unit doesn't stress the cpu or gpu much at all.

hopefully the new Dashboard update where you can install to the hard drive will help solve some of those problems.

Happily I got into the Dashboard preview so I'll be able to see the advantages of it.

The attachment is ****, it blocks the air flow in fact, instead of increasing it. Many 360s RROD'd because of that piece of junk already, so if you don't want TCOS's 360 to get fried don't give him such advice
