Admit it! You are en Achievement Whore!

Study: Achievement-rich games sell better

SOURCE: GameSpot
Electronic Entertainment Design and Research has found titles that implement goals properly average significantly greater sales out of the retail gate.

I like them too. Who doesnt really? Gamers have been doing this since the beggining of time. Challenging yourself with goals except this time you are getting rewarded =)

I like the Atari "Activision" Anthology giving you virutal patches for beating scores. I wish I could buy some of those patches! LOL

Achievements can breathe some extra life out of a game. Once you complete the story, you can now go back to finish off other aspects of the game you missed and be rewarded for your efforts.

Indeed. More "simple" games should take advantage of this type of stuff. It gives people a reason to get better.

I never go out of my way to get achievements. Achievements generally get you to do things in a game that you wouldn't usually otherwise do. Why wouldn't you do them? Because they're not fun.

I like TF2's achievement system (new guns for doing set amounts) however most people exploit the system so its not that amazing. But it does give a few more reasons to put in a few more hours into a game.

Games that don't implement goals properly are confusing to play... so why don't they sell??

Oh wait...

...nice study, either way. lol
