If a game will be patched shortly after release, it's a bad thing. If some features don't made it into a RPG, it's a very bad sign. The whole plug & play stuff nearly completely is gone from the newest generation of video games and that sucks. I don't have a 360, but I would be very pissed about such stuff.

Oh great. Now that the consoles support patches, the hungry masses will keep recieving half baked products and for that extra touch of cherry on the top they will have to wait a certain period of time in order for the patch to come out. In worst case scenario, "we" will have to pay for features already on the disc (looks at Scamco... eeerrr, Namco). Ugh...

Well, it will have local co-op, but not online co-op, out of the box. So the only thing that seems to be missing is gonna be some network code, except if they had planned some big differences between the local/online co-op. Its lame, but I'm not afraid of the game actually missing "important stuff" (like how players interact between each others) about the online co-op if it's just a copy of the local one, but online. It doesn't seem like a lie, simply a "OH S- OH S- SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED BUT THE GAME IS ALREADY GOLD WE'RE F-D". I'm not ready to blame that one on the guy lying to us again. There's a difference between promising features all along and then removing them from the game, and actually having a feature, but having to delay it because a bug popped out. I can't really blame one guy for a bug coming from a part of the game that he had no part in coding. It seems like they thought the game was finished, the game go gold (5 days ago), then they see a bug/problem with the online cop-op and think "Well, we can delay the game for every players and piss them all off, or we can release it and patch the online co-op, since only people with internet connection will want to play online anyway". Hey, its a horrible thing to release games that are released incomplete, but I can't blame it on Peter himself. He's not the one who coded it and he has to answer to Microsoft Game Studios, who would probably tell him to ship it anyway since it already went gold.

Thanks Cotton for your short and boring feedback . You can keep that to the Bin.Quote:
(and making a game for a console is supposed to be "easier", by making a game on a console that they're familiar with/that doesn't change with time/that they can focus more on... It's nice to see that developers use those advantages to increase the quality of the game at retail )

Not yet. They haven't announced it for PC, but it's likely to be coming eventually.

*10 years in the future* Gamer: Hey did you got the new Rainbow Six game? Gamer2: Nah i havent. I heard it has this nasty bug where the menu options like new game, load game and options dont show up. You need to download a patch for it. Gamer: And how are you going to do that if there is nothing on the title screen? Gamer2: Oh, oddly the only option showing up is "Connect to Xbox Live". Patch costs 5 bucks Gamer: ...

Bad Company was a testing ground for EA, to see how people react to microtranscations, how different kind of players (hardcore, casual) react to it. I think that they only used it with weapons, and they seem to have loosened it up after seeing all the backlash around it. They were planning to explore it more with Spore tho (afaik). (but it seems to be more with creature parts, customization, stuff like that) They don't seem to have given up on that idea, and are interested in bringing it farther, with possible gameplay mode being unlocked only if paid for, dunno exactly how far they're gonna take it, but BC was a way for them to take a small dip in a whole new ocean of possibilities.

Of course we can't rule out other companies, but... Alchemy was related to more things than just gaming.

They are however the first people I know of in businesses which concern software in some way or another to charge for something which they are obligated to provide and therefore should have been doing so free of charge.
