Crysis Might Actually Get Optimized!! :|

In a new German language interview at PCgames.de (interpreted by Blue's News) Yerli states that PC owners will be able to play Crysis Warhead in high detail with 30-35 frames per second on a PC that costs a mere 400 euros. In fact the optimisations for Crysis Warhead could find their way into a new Crysis patch as well although it will likely not be worked on until development of Crysis Warhead is completed.

Earlier I discussed about this in length. About how the PC game industry needs to change in regards to code standards.

And yes, it is about time. Question is, how much effort? The same effort that ID Software consistantly makes? Or a half-assed job?

Crysis was a gambling man's game because you really don't know how many people have the hardward to even run it at all, finally crytek is learning from their mistakes to make better their products without going overboard with their insane ideas of setups.

Idea's are great as long as everyone can experience with ease then it would be noticed.

If a HD 4850 can't do the game in 1920 x 1200 with consistent 30 - 35fps at Very High detail settings, or a GTX 260/9800GTX can't do the same then I say it's still not worth it.

as for the 400 euros statement, High detail probably means just high and not very high

and a 400 euro pc this fall is probably counting a 9800gtx or 4850
I can play crysis with "high detail" on a measly 9600

30fps on high doesn't sound much like an optimization...

like john said, they're just counting on lowered prices of hardware for their estimates.

they can just use the same engine, and release the game when hardware prices are cheaper, and the statement will still be valid.

Yeah. Just Googling for the specs of today's HP and Fujitsu-Siemens PC:s with price about 500€ and they should nicely run Crysis on high settings with about 30-35FPS.
