yes folks you heard it right its coming on xbox360 on 2009 and squareenix announced it .. no confirmation if it will come to ps3 also..
and i know it will likely have a ps3 release because ps3 team on star ocean 4 development was not drop yet..

its odd. since star ocean 4 trailers are on PSP in japan..
most likely it will be a multiplatform XBOX360/PS3

odd if you watch the second trailer: the guy main character looks like shuyin of FFX-2 and the female main character look like the lead gurl in Rogue galaxy(sorry i forgot here name)


SQUAREENIX is having a strategy on how they are releasing there games..

my thoughts are...

TRIACES games goes MULTIPLATFORM or exlusive to other platform..

info goes that FFXIII goes on hold at the moment according to dengeki(japanese magazine), where in the FFXIIIVS is now helping finish the FFXIII main series 1st.. before continuing the FFXIIIVS...and hopefully there target release day.. will be on holiday 2008(dec)

Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII is STILL PS3 EXCLUSIVE

"Square Enix Event Confirms That, Yep, FFXIII's Still PS3 Only"

Yesterday, Square Enix announced a couple games for the Xbox 360. Previously PS3-only Star Ocean 4 is indeed Xbox 360 bound. And multiplatform release The Last Remanent is getting released on the Xbox 360 first. Today, Square Enix announced it's upcoming "private party" in August that will be showcasing PS3, PSP, DS and mobile games. (No Xbox 360 titles, apparently!) Dubbed "DKΣ3713", the two-day Shinjuku event will be limited to only 2,400 attendees, picked by raffle through the Japanese Square Enix Members website. The event will have new demos and new trailers. Games that will be on hand are:

FINAL FANTASY XIII（PS3）
FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII（PS3）
FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII（Mobile）
KINGDOM HEARTS Coded（Mobile）
KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days（DS）
KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep（PSP）
DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY（PSP）
The 3rd Birthday（Mobile）
Sigma Harmonics（DS）
FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN COMPLETE（Movie／Blu-ray）
Whew! Look at that, FINAL FANTASY XIII is of course still listed as only a PS3 title. And look, that rumour that FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII has been canned is not true. Just what Japan needs, more Final Fantasy. But where is Dragon Quest IX? Not listed, that's where! The event seems geared towards the FFXIII series and the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Oh, and note, no clue what will be in trailer form and what will be playable — but we seriously doubt FINAL FANTASY XIII will be in playable demo form.

I'm willing to bet S-E got paid quite an amount by M$ to release one of their more popular and successful titles for their console...ahhh, conspiracy theories!

Personally, I find Star Ocean games to be much more fun and higher value then Final Fantasy games. So I'm a bit peeved upon reading this news

Finally they are releasing a promising RPG for XBox 360.

I don't believe that it will be a problem for PS3. I just don't believe that SO4 will be only released for XBox 360. RPG-gamers have trusted PS-consoles for years and now XBox gamers will get something, too. Maybe they will get PS3, too, when they realize what they've been missing.

But why?! It should be the other way around following common sense and history. Sure the 360 could use a boost in the RPG department, but most 360 owners I know (like 9 out of every 10) enjoy other genres. Mostly FPS and action/adventure. Some of them haven't even heard of Star Ocean...man, I'm seriously going to have to email...no wait, snail mail S-E (I'll get my Japanese prof to translate for me ) to get my point across.

Both games are on UE3, that's probably why it's appearing on the 360 first.

Congrats to X360. I've played a bit of Star Ocean 2 and if it's atleast as good as that, X360 owners are going to spend quite a bit of time playing SO4.

yes thats exactly true.

but whenever i say that, thanakil starts argueing with me.

truth is, PS3 is for the RPG fans and jap games, and xBox 360 is for the western games.

i can't believe they're actually making these RPGs for the xBox 360 and not for the PS3!

Isn't it obvious why Microsoft wants to release these games on their console ?

They want to have success in Japan.

Last gen they were accused of dropping xbox support after a year or two in japan and that's really made it more difficult for them to succeed this time around. They actually learn from their mistakes, That's good. They're also thinking next gen already.

I also can't understand all the negativity towards the 360 around here. Do you really think the PS3 would have gone down in price were it not for the 360's success ? Competition is good for everyone, even PS3 owners.

Now though, I think that in 1 year we'll start hearing about xbox 720 or whatever they'll call it for a release in 2 years. I do expect the system to only have minor hardware improvements though (meaning the graphics will be better but not by a whole margin) but have a solid hardware redesign (in that, not faulty to start off with), a monstruous HD, blu ray, gigabit wireless out of the box and immersive control scheme. I also see it launch on 55 nm process and have a launch price of 299-350 tops. I'd also wager it'd be a power pc based core so xbox 360 games would work out of the box in it.

The reason for that is to help curb the development costs down with similar tech, have immersive gameplay à la wii and to have space for the media side of xbox live. I also expect that's the system they'll be making a solid push in japan with.

No I don't argue that there isn't a lesser market, I just argue that there are still people who can enjoy it on those consoles.
They may be trying to reach a new audience, and they may find the 360 to be easier to make a game for then the PS3, if they use the UT3 engine then ever more so. They may be thinking that the cost saved from going on the 360 will make up for the lesser market.

I don't hate the 360. I just don't have it and it just irritates me that I might have to buy it just to play a game from one of my favorite RPG franchises of all time. There are no games for the 360 that I want to play or I can't play on my PC or PS3.

This game has probably been in the works before the PS3 was eve released, so I can understand them shifting to a more familiarized console. But saying they don't have ANY plans for a PS3 release just bugs me

Where does it says is an exclusive? all i see here is "Star Ocean 4 coming to 360" thats all. Stop jumping to conclusions and go all hating. I am sure is coming to the ps3 later on. Anyway. I hope the item Creation System makes a comeback and is more deep and complex. Love that feature in SO3 which i am currently playing (110 hours so far). Cant wait =)
