Metal Gear Solid 4

Worldwide release stated for 12th June. Epic game, if I may point out to the obvious.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Discuss it. Scenarios, cliffhangers, everything. As usual, try keeping spoilers to a minimum (use the spoiler tags). Need spoilers? Truckloads here ;P

I don't like how the early reviews are being "controlled" to ignored some of the flaws of the game. Basically they had to choose between being able to do a early review of the game (which every magazine/website would love to do for the publicity it gives them) but at the condition that they overlook some things. Gonna wait for those limitations to lift before I look for a serious review =/. Still interested in the game, just don't like when this kind of thing happen.

Something else that bothers me, but that was bound to happen :
The reviews seem to be separated in two camps atm. One who focus on 100% mark or close to that (95+) and the other on 80+-.

Now to see if the perfect scores are biased in favor of the games/trying to appease the fans, or if it's the others who are reducing the scores on purpose to try and appeal to the crowd of people who wants to bring a popular series down (You know. 'IM A REBELZ'. Or simply anti-PS3 gamers).

Never picked up the MGS solid series, and have no intention of doing so anytime within the near future. Gameplay looks interesting, but tbh not worth buying a PS3 for. If its supposed to be the epiphany of the PS3... then I'm sorry to say I'm totally going to skip this generation of consoles.

Two more days. I bet I'll be the very first person to post a quick review before I slay my way through. Yet another great MGS game for sure. ;p

MGS2 on the ps2 was an amazing game imo. I never played any of the other MGS games either, i started on 2. The plot and characters are truly unique for that kind of game, in that regard splinter cell is beat hands down. I would buy a ps3 for this game if so many great pc games weren't on the horizon.

mgs2's plot was rather weird compared to the others, i didnt really understand some of it until a played through it a few times. the game was alright until the 2nd part of the game where you dont control snake anymore, i still dont get why they did that.

This has to be one of the most anticipated games of this year.

Awaiting your reviews.

Websites that wanted their review copy weren't allowed to post a message about the length of one particular cutscene, and the fact that you can't get around installing the game. So there you have it, want action and don't like waiting, consider this game to waste about 2 hours of your life. Grab some gaming mags and get constipated at release time I'd say
Spoiler:
90 minutes

Yeah, MGS2's plot was very weird and convoluted. Reading some spoilers from MGS4 makes MGS2's plot have more sense but holy crap, MGS's storyline is really fck convoluted. You need a map and compass to find the ends and tails of it.

The Raiden part was basicly a way of Kojima saying " Hey fans, you wanted Snake but i wanted to do my thing. F--- you!" well, maybe witnout the F part :S

Besides, it wasn't so bad. Raiden was more agile than Snake and he had a girlfriend which... ummmm... codec-ed him every 5 seconds about some nonsense noone cares about.

for anyone want to spoil the game or want to know what all the hype is . that is the first 2 act or 6 hours worth of playtime. good for those without ps3 but want to finish the mgs saga.

I played the whole series till now.. from the first MGS in 1992
the first MGS and the MGS2 where released first time on MSX computers..
MGS2 on MSX computers is awesome. (like it makes sense why snake hide himself inside a box) well, in that game, he gets into a factory for the enemy army.. he must move on the conveyor belts and getting scanned from the machines.. (It was a maze of conveyor belts, it took me 45 minutes to solve this, especially when changing the color of the box too).. off topic I guess, err..

nevertheless I am a die hard fan, MGS 4eva.. waiting.. just tomorrow

Not really, those were Metal Gear games, not Metal Gear Solid games. Nevertheless, those games were great indeed, unfortunately Samor is always eager to remind me of how the MSX had the real games, unlike the NES

Well, I think I'll buy it... I just hope they did a good job on it. Some things in the trailers just seemed rather scary(like in the sense that it might go out there and suck), but we'll see it tomorrow
