Diablo 2 server, who's game?

If we (the pcsx2 team) started up a diablo 2 server, who fancies blowing the dust off the box and making use of it?

Edit: Server now up!!

How to connect:

grab this http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/...BNetEditor.zip then run it

left click on diablo 2, then right click in the list on the right, hit "Add", then the 2 boxes that appear at the top put

Server: PCSX2
Address: 213.171.197.159

then ok it, double click on the new one you added to make it your default (signified by the tick) and run diablo 2, connect to battlenet as you normally would (Make sure it says PCSX2 under the button)

Darn, I wish I knew where I left it. I'd fee like playing, I've actually been thinking about it lately.

(It would be worth a shot to actually search for it in my mom's basement, I just need to go there, and try not to make my mom feel bad for coming see her because of a GAME. I visit her sometime, but it would still feel kinda wrong.)

I just hope my cd-key is still somewhere in the box or something... It would be just like like me to keep the box but loses the key.
(gotta look for LoD too, since I prefer playing a druid)

Hah, my key may have been stolen and I wouldn't even know about it x_x. Haven't played for almost 6 years... Damn. Same for Starcraft, but the reason behind SC is because my CD freakin BROKE inside my tower.

I was installing the game when bam, there was a line going from the middle to the extremity. I tried to read the cd, hopeful that since the cd was still in "one piece" (sure it was CUT, but it was still in one piece ) that maybe, just maaayyyybe, the cut would be small/thin enough that the cd would still read... Yes, I was foolish.

Nyway, it would be fun to play D2 again, just wonder if everyone will be able to find back where they stored the game. And maybe that no-one will cheating on the unofficial servers .

(fun fact : even tho Hellgate : London was made by the same people that did D2 and even tho the game is still quite recent, you can find it cheaper than D2 : LoD, a freakin EXPANSION... Kinda sad, I was expecting good stuff from HGL)

diablo 2? cant really say it'd be the best cpu cycle usage ;P
i just joined the battle.net bandwagon these days, not sure though, given the game mechanics... competitive-style faster-paced games just sound cooler. ie counterstrike source?
lineage 2 private serv could be nice as well, with L2J. midlowrange machines support a good 50 players minimum without a sweat.

Sure I'll play if you get it set up.

I'd be also interested in starcraft though, since its pvp can be more satisfying than diablo IIs.

Its far more constructive to destroy someone than to work cooperatively together for some common goal.

My assassin sucks balls even though I finished LOD with her and so does my connection now (2 Mb shared with 4 ppl). I'd love to ref, but from my Xbox Live experience I'd be more pissed by lags than enjoy the game.

Talk to me after I finish with FF12 and we'll see. D2 is still installed on my end. As for the Hellgate discussion, while it didn't start off too strong, it is improving. Given some time, it (hopefully) will be a good time-waster.

Hellgate doesn't suck at all. I've played much worse Diablo clones.

Tried, got bored.
It's made by the same guys as Hellgate : London, and while it's closer to D2 (isometric perspective, UI feels similar, the way your character advance feels similar) but it really didn't feel that good...

I saw it improve for a long time over beta, but I didn't see any HUGE change... I think my biggest problem is how there may be "too much" freedom in how you travel the world, and too little story/fixed goals you have to achieve. It makes the world feel too... Bland.

Something that was nice with D2 is how you advance all through the story, visit nice and diversified environments, it followed and flowed in a right way.
In Mythos, it kinda feels... Just empty, in some way. I don't really like the classes/skills either, but I haven't tried enough of the characters to make a really good judgment on that.

How about Heroes of Might and magic 3?

I'd love to play that game with some other members. It was origianlly playable over mplayer and a couple other payment based services. It'd be a great game for people who only have 56k modems as the game is turn based.

And finally jonc will be able to play starcraft and LOSE since he has his starcraft disks but misplaced his cd key and your server doesn't require cd keys.

Also since I mentioned these great ideas I think its only fair that you each gift me a free victory over you guys in starcraft.

the only game ive played which is nearly as decent as diablo 2 is Titans Quest, it had a very similar feel, although the UI was a bit more complex (imo). But i dont think anything will replace it, D2 was just executed perfectly.

I liked Titan Quest as a follower for Diablo II...

Oh that's right I might join in on this Diablo II online, just that I'm pretty much amateur when it comes to the game and I haven't really played it online yet so I'm a newbie
