Crysis and my PC

I saw this game on the market recently and it looks promising seems like to beat Halo. But seeing its system requirements was hell. But I see some people who could run on lower GFX settings. I can buy the game but I can't be sure that it can run on my Rig. I need some advice from people here If I can run it on my simple specs:

T2300 @ 1.66GHZ Dual core
1 GB RAM
Intel 945GM 224 Video Memory
And I have more than sufficient HDD Space

And I need some comments or your other experiences about this game thanks in advance

it might work but on the lowest lowest lowest graphics setting. And slow, really really slow. Game wont look and run good on that laptop. And that is IF the game really runs but im not sure. My friend have a better procesesor and video card than yours and he still play the game on the lowest setting at 30fps.

IMO skip the buy =\

It has no hope of running on an onboard card as it brings even the best of cards to it's knees...so yeah skip it.

Forget it. No way will the game run anything near decently, assuming it runs at all.

i can get crysis to run okish, maybe 20fps on average with all high settings. IMO the game is good, but there will be another title coming out soon that will be even better....

Far Cry 2!

And I read somewhere on one of the official websites that the system reqs won't be as high as crysis. So maybe this is the game you should be picking up instead? idk, just my two cents

far cry 2 is nowhere near crysis at all in terms of detail OR graphics

it hides a lot with it's lighting

and the textures are pretty low res, the storm effects are nice though

but crysis is leagues ahead

I can run crysis at 5-12 fps on my PIII 600MHZ 2400 HD PRO. No telling how better it will run if i had a X1550 Diamond PCI or 8500GT PCI card. The 2400 HD pro is 64bit bus, so its holding back.

they still make PCI cards?

best option is to save your money and buy a whole new system if you don't have a PCI-e slot.

How would a dual core AMD 2.6ghz, with NVIDIA 8600, 2gyg RAM work on it?

Prolly at 1024, everything at medium, that should work.
You can try either going a little higher in resolution (like 1280x960) or to increase some stuff at High (but not shadow or shaders... that would kill) and you may keep a good fps.
I had a card that performed similar to a 8600GTS (or at least, afaik from benchmark) and I could play with settings similar to that.

Paratech, it will run "okay"...and I say okay depending on what your expecting to put the settings of the game on.

It won't run great if you slap on 1600x1200 with everything Very High, but it could be playable on 1024x768 with everything high.

You'll have to install it and test for yourself...but your rig is acceptable to play it at a decent framerate and having it look somewhat decent.

I have a similarly spec Sony Vaio Notebook with the exact same onboard video/ram/CPU and it doesn't even run COD4. It errors out with an unsupported Dx feature. This is with the newest Intel 945GM drivers. The game may require SM3 support which I doubt that onboard video supports.

The notebook runs Quake3 fairly nicely though.

But I can run Quake 3 on my Eee PC. And and... Street Racing Syndicate, too.
