Fav Fifth Gen Consoles (Please VOTE!)

State if you own any of them, which one you like (if you have more than one 5th gen) and most important: WHY you like it.

I am planning to write an article based on this poll. Thanks!

ohh that's a though choice, i have a psx and n64, and both were great consoles. haven't heard of the others/tested them.
While the psx had the final fantasy games 5-9 , the nintendo had better looking games and many fun games such as zelda oot, banjo kazooie - banjo tooie, supermario 64, mario kart and a few more so i will go with the n64

That's a tough choice. The playstation definitly had more quality titles, but I enjoyed the few great games on the 64 more.

PS1 no doubt. I also enjoyed the 64 A LOT. Love Wave Race, Mario, Golden Eye, Zelda and other games. But the Ps1 for me had more memorable and enjoyable games.

Whilst I love the N64 it simply does not have the gamelist to contend with the PS1.

I had more "wow, nice" games on the PS (lots of them). But more "ZOMG GOTTA PLAY IT CAN'T PASS ON THAT GAME ZOMG WTF AWESOME" game on the 64. (Like Mario 64 or OOT)
Not that there wasn't any on the PS tho, just less for what I like. On the other hand, I found way less "wow, nice" games on the 64, it was more of a "there's nooooothing to plaaayyy" deal interrupted by "I REALLY THINK THIS GAME IS AWESOME" once in a while.
(which is kinda the case even to this day with most consoles, or PC, for many reasons, thanks God for indie gaming for filling the holes)

PS1 had better games for it.

the N64 had Mario, Zelda, Mariokart, Golden Eye, and Super Smash Bros, but thats pretty much all it had...

PS1 had FF7, FF8, FF9, Tomba 1 & 2, Megaman X3~6, and countless other games I can't think of.

The Banjo games, there was more than only one mario game (Paper Mario was AWESOME), Donkey Kong, Conker, Starfox, some people liked the old Turoks (I personally didn't care much for it), and I personally liked Mario Tennis a whole lot. Wave race was pretty darn fun. Rayman had some nice games but I dunno if it was exclusive (I doubt it, I remember a PC version). F-Zero X was nice even tho it lacked a little something, but I still had fun with it. Oh yeah, and SUPERMAN! (ok I'm joking on this one)

It doesn't add to much if you compare it to EVERYTHING the PS had, but it's far more than the very small list you compiled . Peoples could probably add games to what I listed too, I don't have the best memory. You're just underestimating the console by only listing those few games .

But for me, it was more of the "OH DAMN" factor that came from the top games, than the sheer numbers of games. I didn't see many games who came close to the awesomness from Mario64 or Zelda OOT. I saw many great games, but those two are still far at the top for me, that's one of the reason why I still see the 64 as a good console. Sadly it lacked support a lot, but it still had some shining gems on it, gems that very few games could reach when compared on equal grounds.
I saw many games that were great, but the 64 had more games for me that were still untouchable, probably the only reason I forgave it for taking stupid decisions that made third-party flee the hell away.

PlayStation all of the way! Final Fantasy VII (which I'm not a fan of, but I know many others are) Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Silent hill, Tekken plus countless other awesome games.

Owning both, I have to say the N64 (only just), because for some weird reason (this goes for the PS2 as well) I always got a headache after 5 minutes playing any Playstation game (didn't stop me though).

The are more games for the Playstation but some of the best Nintendo 64 games were better than anything on the market at the time.

Goldeneye, Mario 64, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, Zelda:OoT/MM, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, other than the fact there was no Metroid, there were several great games for the N64.

That's not saying the Playstation doesn't have great games, but I don't see them matching the ones I listed for the Nintendo 64.

I owned both, I still own a Nintendo 64, but I play my Playstation games on my PC. Three Playstations were enough for me. I have a Playstation 2, but I prefer the PC for Playstation emulation.

Playstation. Considering only one of the other listed consoles didn't fail, there's not much competition. And between PSX and N64, N64 had few games that interested me, PSX gets my vote. Only advantage of N64 is the awesome WWF games. Mario Kart 64 had its moments too.

The N64 failed?
I thought it was a successful system.
