Best Game Intro and Ending.

My 2 picks are FFVIII and FFX

FFX's ending was really well thought out, while FFVIII's intro easily got the adrenaline pumping.

Vagrant story for the intro. The first time I saw it, It just blew me away. I don't really have a favorite ending but I've gotta say FF8 was the most rememberable for me.

I have to admit that even tough I hate FF8 it has one of the best intros I've ever seen but my vote goes for Xenogears!

"I am Alpha and Omega"

Man, that was awesome!

FFX-2's intro was the more memorable one I have remembered at the time of posting this...

God of War and God of War 2. Tell me a game which starts with the protagonist throwing himself off a cliff? "The Gods of Olympus have abandoned me.... now there is no hope".

God of War 2 was badass as well. "Zeus, you son has returned I bring the destruction of Olympus" with all the Titans scaling the mountain. How I lust for GoW3.

Top means top range, not the best. XD
if there's an Into/ending, then it probably has a degree of RPG element in there

Are we talking FMV's/cutscenes/opening sequences here? Or first hour and last hour of gameplay?

I liked some fighting game intro's, in particular Capcom vs SNK and Garou: MOTW.

for the really retro-stuff: Salamander on MSX. A genuine intro-demo, and the logo exploding onto the screen - all this on Z80-based hardware in 1988

I also liked Strangleholds very short but very stylish intro. Unfortunately this intro was a too good illustration of what the game itself is like... stylish indeed, and very, very short.
(story wise it also did too good a job at emulating hong kong cinema, because it's as crappy as those old Woo movies (before he went to hollywood))

I liked Suikoden 3's intro - that was some catchy music. Xenosaga III's ending was nice.
