Indeed.
I actually love their works... because they eliminate the need to have the damn discs inside whenever I had to load a game... and finding the discs wasn't all that annoying... but my DVD drive is just extremely loud!

cd-checks and dvd-checks are already so much friendlier (and everybody still hates them)...
The day the Steam and activation servers are taken offline, no more installing/playing HL2 for you... The concept of ownership is skewed badly here. Sure, no one complains, as soon as the servers are still up, see what happens when they're no longer (possibly even as a marketing ploy to force everyone into buying HL3 when it comes out). Steam itself is more acceptable as a purchasing platform, but not as a way to force a continuous presence on one's system (generally described as "gaming functionalty", as if that piece of code was indispensable to run single player games or prevent cheating in online parties). In unrelated matters, would someone post screenshots of this particular game ? |

PSP screenshots can be found here:
Lumines Screens for PSP at GameSpot Since the PC version seems like a port (I think it's actually a port?) of the game, they should be identical. Well, minus the fact that you have 8x the clarity of visuals, that is. It's a great rhythm/puzzle game.

I severely doubt they can even go offline at this point, Steam has been such a highly successful and steady source of revenue for Valve that they no longer even have to do anything to make money. All the other studios come to them now to get a piece of that. I don't doubt Steam will be around well after HL3 has come and gone. It's essentially free money to the owners.

This is the reason why I only make Steam purchases for small games like this, for regular games I'm too much of a collector. I want a manual and a nice box, and Steam can't offer me that. This all makes it horribly overpriced as well, Steam is a financial ripoff to such a degree I simply can't understand why it's so popular. |

prettier than the PS2 port, and there are no silent moments (loading delays) between skin shifts (something hushy disliked a lot about the ps2 version)....neither are there "cuts" in the music (would be quite noticeable in the ps2 version sometimes, esp. with headphones).
More content too (esp. with the advanced pack). My only gripe is that the background videos show a bit too much compression (=blocky) at times.
