Nintendo's Virutal Console CRACKED

Quote:
"Donkey.Kong.Country.2.Diddys.Kong.Quest.VC.PAL.Wi i-BlaZe" has been released into the wild world of the underground warez by a Team who calls themselves Blaze Team. Seeing that once you purchase a VC title it's yours and you can download it again, even after exchanging your Wii with Nintendo the reasoning for "backups" doesn't seem so valid and the point it's illegal to spread them around will most likely cause a major look into the situation by Nintendo.

Bushing, one of the authors and the first person to run homebrew on the Nintendo Wii is currently upset about this as it will bring negative attention to the homebrew community and I'm told he's going to post an article about why this is wrong. However, VC games have been cracked. I'll update this post (if/when) Bushing posts about the event.
This is the discuss the situation, not to share links, etc.

Personally, with the amount of emualtors available on the wii, I dont see what the big deal is.

Absolutely nothing new.

Xbox360, Xbox and PS2 scene releases exist. Plus, PARADOX did the PS3 loader, so bleh.

Nothing to see..move along. Was bound to happen anyway.

All VC games can be downloaded as roms for various emulators anyway, so if somebody wants to play them for free will download them and play on PC, it's that simple. Besides, people exchange accounts on XBL and PSN all the time to download some games for free. Nothing new really.

Heh, I was just randomly looking into this subject just last night because I spent a lot of money on rebuying games that I already own...

Which actually turned out to be a whole bunch of craps from attention seekers. The PS3 is the only console that has not been cracked... yet.

Wrong

Scene releases exist for PS3.

Though yes I seen. Its a shame a group with such a caliber as PARADOX made a fake. But still, PS3 games ARE being cracked. End of story.

Bye.

Well at some point Nintendo will no longer be supporting re-downloading games purchased.
If people want to back up stuff for personal use, that should be their business. I'm going to debate whether or not I want to repurchase NES,SNES, and N64 games I want to play on the Wii...I haven't decided yet...

But If I don't buy them, I doubt I'll try playing them on the Wii...

Just my $0.25...

As long as you cannot upload the roms you want to the Wii, I find this to be pretty useless

The warez groups WILL find a way.

NO protection is 100% solid.

As I said there are emualtors for pretty much all the VC systems on the Wii anyway, why I find it utterly useless. Sure you dont have wiimote controls in the emu's but I cant see that lasting for long.

Totally my point: I prefer to decide on my own what games I want to run on my emulator instead of having a predefined set of roms. And most emulators will use the wiimote and/or the classic controller in the future I think.

Well, you need a modded Wii to play emulators on it and every time I do an upgrade it tells me that if I have a modified console, the Wii may not work or something like that. I don't look foward to having my Wii not work considering how much I invested into it.

Is there a way to cancel updates when they come from purchased games tho?
I know the Wii updates when you play a new game, can we actually cancel those updates? =/ I never tried personally (Wii not modded) but it'd be nice to know.

Using freeloader, updates via game discs wont be installed.
