Well, the majority of people who hack the PSP is so they can pirate...

Okay, j/k. It's because it lets you use tons of customized features that Sony wont let you use, making the PSP funner to use!

apps are slower on phones because they generally don't get the same low-level access as something like a PSP game.

if the coders could get low-level access on a phone, then they can make a program that would dial 911 every minute or something similar.
so the cellphone companies don't usually give them so much power.

edit:

911 is the number for Emergencies, for those of you outside of the US

Sometimes... all you need to do is... rewire something... Some other times, you need to... modify some software... stuffs. Well, it depends.

but you can't really test if they're stable.
since theres no Prime/stress tester for cellphones
(well, to my knowledge...)

To be honest... you don't need them to be stable! Why? It's simple... even at stock clocks, the phone may have problems with applications, anyway (mostly Java). If it doesn't run... it just doesn't run. But to stress the components, it's not that hard. Just make them do repeated calculations and self-test for about an hour or so. Since it's a cell phone, you are pretty much good if you can calculate for an hour straight.

I don't understand the problem with this survey. I don't think it's biased at all - they're just open to all possibilities. If you don't feel like you're doing it "because it makes you feel like a rebel", then just choose "1 - Do not agree at all".

And to the question "It's my PSP, so I can do whatever I want to it", just answer "5 - Agree completely".

They're just asking every posible question, and you're able to answer in every shade of agreement or disagreement. Seriously, I don't see the problem.

This is actually quite an honest survey - they are willing to question every assumption there might have had about this (and they're doing so by putting it in the survey) and let YOU tell them what it's really about.

I have no problem with the survey either.

Maybe everyone's mad because it's none of Sony's bussiness about what we do with our PSP /: But I don't care if they want to know...

The survey is biased.
The survey gives ridiculous reasons for hacking your PSP; its insulting...

what refraction said in the OP sums it up
Quote:
The questions arent even put neutrally, its like "why do you break the law? do you feel cool breaking the law"...

Mmm... and I wonder if they'll ever put up a survey on how much people want the PS3 to get hacked.

YouTube - Guy destroys a brand new PS3

Well, at least a real PS3 got hammered for good.

Lol, I never read the survey, so I just checked it out and the answers they used DO look like they are trying to make the hackers look bad!

Guess now I see why everyone's against it...
