No biggie, really Anyhoo, I have to admit that in my opinion the gaming market is getting worse, heading downhill if I might say. I consider the SNES era to be the best, followed by the PSX era and so on. The games are beautiful, realistic and so on and so on nowadays, but somehow the spirit and the climate so well known and felt when playing FFVI, Chrono Trigger or Xenogears has been lost. Dunno about other ppl, who are 25+ and remember those good old times, but I just feel this way. No game on current gen consoles can give me such a feeling like many SNES/MegaDrive/PSX/Saturn/N64 titles. Both PS3 and 360 are racing for best graphics, gazillion of polys, super realistic physics and so on BUT graphics don't make the whole game and I know the whole bunch of games which look beautiful but play as crap. Nintendo went in the very good direction with Wii, and my only complaint is that there are way too few games for hardcore gamers. This 'casual player' trend is becoming a little annoying IMO.

i agree.
its mostly because Game Development has become a multi-million dollar industry.
And now we have like huge teams of 30+ members working on a game.
With teams that big, you loose the love.

Back in the day, games were made by teams of like 1-10 people that liked what they were doing, and made the game the way they wanted to.

Theres still some Indie game developers that make some good games, except they're overshadowed by the big companies.
One day I hope to work with my own small-team of Game Developers, and make a game that we all can work together and make suggestions on; instead of being forced to do what some big game company tells me to do.

Xbox has plenty of life. Try playing Jade Empire too. I played the demo and it was great.

I highly recommend it. The game is absolutely beautiful. Almost everything in the game is destructible. You can launch an enemy into a house/temple and have it completely destroyed. Or into huge pillars and watch all crumble to the ground. The Boss Fights are amazing as well. My Favorite Boss Fight is the Snow Level one (i forgot the name). You are fighting with a big Blue Demon in a snowy mountain and this is without a doubt the most exciting Boss Fight in the game. Fighting in the air and ground. Destroying everything in your path, making big holes in the ground and obliterating every single single thing there is around you. You feel like a complete badass when you get strong enough to kill gigantic 3 headed snake monsters with 1 hit =P. Absolutely stunning game

But i still need to play the Sequel. I went to buy it twice but it was 45$ used! a 3 year old game! What a Rip Off! damn Gamestop ¬¬

By the time I get through all the PS2/XBOX games I want to play, the PS5 will be released!

And I have 4 Wii games to keep me occupied at the moment.

50+ XBOX games!

Yeah, didn't videogames take in 13+ Billion $$$ last year?

IIRC Halo 3 took in nearly 200+ million @ avg $60 a copy for 4 million copies?

I'd think Super Mario Galaxies did close to the same?

I own 80 Xbox games and I'm about to buy tons more. My Xbox1 game collection is the largest so far, next to my NES collection. I don't have this ninja gaiden you all talk about so much though. I'll get it eventually. I have the feeling that it's just another one of team ninja's overrated games. Anyone ever play Blade II? That game is not easy to get nowadays.

Halo 3 is somewhere between 7M and 8M sold.
Mario Galaxy is somewhere between 6M and 7M sold.
(so Halo 3 still has about 1M over Mario Galaxy)
But the two are pretty close, yeah.

Where did they get their numbers tho?
That website has pretty inaccurate numbers, Nintendo themselves released numbers for various games, one of which was Mario Galaxy, showing that it had sold 5,20M up to December 2007.

This goes against that article, who actually date from April this year, who says "4.1M".

If they think they can give better numbers than the developer/publisher of the game...

And if you add the sales from Jan/Feb/March, it's not that hard to think that the game may have reached 6M like I saw.

I dont know. I checked on Vgchartz and the sales are in fact 6.3M and H3 7.5M. Maybe they are wrong or there is something missing in that info.

I was going with what I last heard, trying to low ballpark the figure, thanks to everyone who had better and more accurate figures...

8 million X $60, whoa! Nearly 500 million $$$, maybe more if you count the premium and helmet versions!

Ditto for the Wii! Super Mario Galaxies must be making Nintendo very happy!

Shenmue 2 is a steal for the Xbox, unfortunately for you the DC version still owns, I'd rather give up those extra FPS and filterig for Japanese dubs, Sega really knows how to make weird decisions

The Xbox has a lot of nice games for it, though it never really had that one killer app that made me want it. Especially not since I had a Dreamcast which has a lot more original titles and substitutes for Xbox games. Some are even prequels to what now are their core franchises, like Metropolis Street Racer (the first PGR) and Dead or Alive.

lol i remember those stupid complaints

People make it sound like it was a gigantic thing. Come on, it was not THAT BIG at all. There are a lot of VCRs and DVD players way bigger than the console and is not like you have to carry around the damn thing everywhere you go. I think i have move my Xbox from room to room 3 times in the 3 years its been with me. Stop complaining so much about stupid things and care more about the games for it
