What was the worst purchase you made for a gaming console?

I'll start with a couple and add more later.

Playstation - Marvel vs Capcom, no tag team, it's a crap port of the arcade.

XBOX - Metal Slug 3, limited continues, makes you start from the beginning of a level, nothing like the arcade version.

Gamecube - F Zero FX, worst version of the series.

Playstation 2, I dunno at the moment. I'll think of a game later on.

Dreamcast - Hmm, can't think of one, I'll add one later.

$95 for an XBOX, $9.99 for a copy of Halo 2...Being able to play Halo 2 without buying Vista, priceless! Vista, what OS do you not want to screw up your PC!

'k Wii will Wii will rock you!

I'll add in PC Games in here too.

The worst pc game I got was Sim2 for my sister. Damn she plays that thing too much and neglects her school work because of it.

The worst games I got for xbox were dragonball z sagas and Halo2. Halo 2 was in no way worth close to the $60 i payed for it, especially since I never play online and IMHO the story is boring and nothing remarkable.

THe worst for My original gameboy was a $10 tennis game that was in the Canadian Tire Discount bin back when they sold videogames there.

In between that time I've never purchase a crappy game I can think of since I always was purchasing videogame magazines.

i really didnt care at the time, the gameplay and graphics sucked

The LOTR games for handheld were lame, that's for sure.

(I love F-Zero Gx tho, my favorite close to the N64 one).

My worst purchase I would say was a Slim PS2... I liked the PS2, but the Slim model just didn't felt right. I would have been better with a big one. Games just werent as smooth on the slim, especially MGS3, it just wasn't nice.

But well, as long as it played games it was still good. I just regret not going for a better model. (one thing I don't like when there's too many version of a console...)

It isn't exactly a purchase (i borrowed the game from friend) but i'd have to say it was Dirge of Cerberus. Not exactly a bad game, just really really boring.

aside from smash bros, the n64 had a real lack of good fighting games imo.

FIFA 97 for PSX. I was stuck with older stuff, because PC-version didn't work anymore. I decided to sell it later and got FIFA 2002 for PC... and again it stopped working after updating my computer and now I have FIFA 2003.

hardly a bad buy, I got mine for the exact same price as the wiimote by itself, even if it was 10 dollars more like both places, its still good to add to your collection when your new to the Wii.

I can only remember one such purchase:

PS2 - Shadow Heats: From the New World

Gah, that game was simply awful compared to its two VERY strong prequels. It just tried to copy as much elements as possible from SH: Covenant, added some stupid story, unlikable characters (except for Mao, of course ) and added some pretty colourful graphics. And worst of it all, they didn't even introduce anything new, except for a few small things. Everything you see in that game has been done in SH: Cov. The transformations, the way Mao gained new attacks, that vampire's different personalities, that guitarist's songs and that pseudo-ninja's swords. Everything has been ripped off! Except for the highly annoying task of having to revisit every dungeon several times in order to shoot more photos or bait some crazy strong enemy for that big Indian, of course. Because you are required to do most of this in order to get the good ending!

No, honestly, whoever was responsible for this mess really deserves some good caning for killing off that series the way he did.
