Half Life 2 bugs (plus partial review)
Got into the Orange Box three days ago, started with Portal (brilliant but short) and I'm starting to get into TF2... I need to study the map layout and practice more as The Spy, but considering I haven't played an online FPS in about 5 years, I'd say I'm progressing.
Then I start Half Life 2: Episode One. I dig it but I get a message stating that the core needs to be configured every time I encounter a load screen, and the load screens occur pretty frequently. I'm sorry, but excessive load screens just immediately take me out of the game. Then this happens; I encounter a chopper, I get clipped pretty bad and decide to load a prev state, now I get a message saying 'AI disabled' which is no fun at all of course, and I keep having to enter AI_disable 0+ to enable the enemies. I am so disappointed with the game because of that, and the fact that certain puzzles were added purely to show off the engine. I've update it and everything, and there's no excuse for this. I'm sorry, but no FPS should have problems like this the first time you start it up. The only other game I can think of that gave me problems the first time I booted it up was Alien Trilogy for the PC, which required a patch in order to install it. PS: How is Crysis multiplayer when compared to TF2 and CS:Source?

the AI Disabled problem is prevelant if you are using an illegal copy. If you are, buy the damn game cos we wont help you here to fuel your theft.
otherwise, probably a good idea to take it to the valve forums.

Crysis multiplayer main purpose is to admire the gfx.
The multi isn't bad, it's just not exactly awesome. You capture research point, keep them until your team has enough research done to get the kickass weapon, once that's done the other team is pretty much losing. Then it's all a matter of nuking the other team base until you win. Average multi, better than CS:S for me (never was a huge fan of CSS) but not better than TF2.
