PsP slim cable.

Hello everybody.

I'm a little confused on which cable should I get for my psp slim.

I have an old 21" SAMSUNG Flat screen CRT sdtv and it only has the standart (1) video and (2) audio ports.

I want to get the cable to use the tv out feature to play games.

There are so many types of cables that I don't know which one could work for me.

Any suggestions?

Your only option is to get a Composite (RCA) cable, like this one:

But as the reviewer said it only allowed him to watch movies, not play games.

Seems I wont be able to use it while I have this old TV.

He said it's only good to watch movies and surf the web.
I'm pretty sure you can play games using it, but I don't about the quality. =/

I don't think so.
I've read that only trough component, with a tv that has progressive mode, you are able to play games.

That's weird, there isn't a major difference (in compatibility) between component and composite. You should be able to play using composite.... I don't know the PSP hardware so well to say I'm 100% sure. So you'd have to make the test.

But I think you are right:

"Sony has added a TV output for the PSP Slim available through Firmware 3.60. The PSP can output in a conventional aspect ratio (4:3), and widescreen (16:9). It also offers a screensaver if the PSP is inactive for a set amount of time. It is able to output games, videos, and other media. But don't expect great image quality even if you use component cable, look:

The guy is saying that games don't use fullscreen, he had to use TV's Zoom to fill the screen. =/
