Spore

Hey, the pc game SPORE is supposed to come out in less than a month! Anyone excited? Sounds like a fun game with all the customability. Give your thought on the game here. Also, what are the system requirnemts?
I'm sure that these are true, lol.

Procedural content generation isn't that intensive
So, the system requirements should be fairly reasonable.

I heard that the system requirnmetns will be like the Sims 2. Is this true? Wish the multiplayer was more direct though. However, I understand that that would need and extremely fast internet, with a huge amount of bandwidth on the server. Oh well. Some things are to good to happen anytime soon.

I wonder, the hype hasn't caught me yet, but I figure it might be horribly addictive, just like sims back in the days, and the average tycoon game. To think that in some years we'll actually see 8GB of Vram... man that's a weird thought, especially when you've bought a 32MB videocard years ago for f350,- (yeah, ye olde guilders, good old times).

Spore is looking like a nice sandbox game, I simply wonder if the fun will stay or if it's gonna end up boring once we see everything there is to see.

But it's been in development for so long, I'm expecting it to have a lot of things to offer, which could keep the game fun for many play-through.

(the requirement shouldn't be that hard, the game isn't using some godly engines)

Yeah, I watched ALL the videos of the game and they look great. Seems like there might literaly be an infinite amout of possibilities. Of course, this may lead to confusion and may also actually be a bad thing. No consistency is not a good thing. Of course, it may be better than always having the same thing. Yes, I know I said a few incorrect things here. Sorry, so don't jump on me about it, okay?

Very cool game, I think this one will be great. It may be even better than the sims games and even like the old tycoon game series. I really like this game and would like to see the screens first hand myself cause it is cool.

The game has released a new teaser trailer, let's all go and download it! Show them how much we want it! (And then how disappointed we are if they delay it )

What!? This makes no sense. You say this is a cool game, but you've never seen an screens? How do you know it's cool?

When did the new video get put up? And where could I watch it?

The thing is I didn't ever seen the screens myself but I heard about it over the internet so this makes it a cool game. Spore is very cool entirely and cannot wait for this game to be released.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I can't believe they've moved the due date yet again! They said that it will be on March 3, 2008 no matter what happens! Ans now they changed that date to September 7, 2008! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm so angry. I was already ready to buy the game. They've changed the due date way too many times. They even said you can already pre-order the game. I've never done this before and would like to ask what it is. Do you get the full game? Or a demo?

P.S. The newest video can be found on Spore in stores September 7, 2008 - Total Spore

Pre-ordering is just making sure you'll receive the game the day it's released.

So you get the full-game, once it's finished.
Sometime pre-ordering the game will get you some bonus, it depends on the game and what they offer. Sometime pre-ordering get you a cheaper price too, but I don't know if they're doing any of those things for Spore.

Most likely, pre-ordering simply means that once the game is released, you're sure to get it as soon as possible (except if they have to mail it to you and it takes a few days/more).

Edit :
There's a few preview of the game (new previews) floating around.

Strangely enough, I just found out they want to release Spore on the Wii too?
I suppose it's not impossible since the game isn't THAT impressive visually. And since the Wii is connected to the net 24/24, they can port the net features easily too.

Yes, they also say that they are thinking about porting the game to nds! That would be really cool having such a game on a portable system.
About the pre-ordering, it's just that I saw C&C3 at Best Buy, and for some strange reason it said that it was a pre-ordered version and would not work with the normal one once it came out. This was a while ago though.

They don't release just the pc version for now because they know that later they would get a lot less sales for the other consoles. My question is, why do they bother making it for other systems? This game seems to be the kind that wouldn't work very well with other systems. Though it would be nice to have a portable version of the game, why bother putting it on the consoles?
