Directplay timeout online gaming problem

Okay, iv'e benn playing Total Annihilation online using warzone for a while now, but I've been having a major problem. About 90% of the time when I try to join a game, the game quits as it loads and I recieve a directplay timout error. This is really annoying for me and for everyone else. Can anyone gove me any suggestions? Thanks you if you can. I really love this game and this error is just spioling the fun.

Okay, I finally found the problem. My ports where fine. As I said, it doesn't always fail, so it's obvious that ports are NOT the problem. Recently I saw that award post in the NO$GBA disccusion about Cfosspeed being the prize. I was interested and decided to buy it and try it. Sadly, though it helped in most things, it seemed to be the problem to my TA directplay timout problem. I tried uninstalling the program and TA worked perfectly. I tried installing it again and the problem returned. So I know that Cfosspeed was the problem. Thanks JONC2006 for at least trying to help.
