Well there was a nomination thread, where people were suposed to nominate whoever they wanted for the awards. That's why the people that actually appear on the awards are beyond our control so...

I don't think anyone really cares enough, seeing how few nominations were made for the award.

Thats because we were too busy being idle on IRC to bother checking the forums for IRC nominations

To be honest I never saw a nomination thread for IRC awards unless it was stuck inside another nomination thread and then in that case I wouldn't have bothered looking. Maybe the nominations should have been verified by someone who actually is in the channel on a daily basis .. ah well something for next year. As for the nominations FLaRe hasn't been there in ages, plot is still a n00b and moomoomoo is rarely there.

Obviously some people care since its basically the only award people have complained about .. well if you don't count the definition of innovation for the one award for the emulators.

Na, really, although it isn't really an excuse, we were a new team and we were learning. However, if we are given the chance to participate in next year's award committee you can be sure that we won't let such mistakes happen again. I guess I should mention the overall awards went better then past ones so I think the committee idea was a great idea and the group did a good job. My above comments were just for the IRC one which is just a small part of the overall awards. Congrats to all the winners.
