Post counts are back. Screw democracy.
I kind of sort of did all this by myself with help from a certain person who shall remain nameless (unless he/she wants to point out he/she helped me out). I made a decision to go out on a limb to fix what had been broken. BTW, posts per day is now displayed. Have fun.

Heh. I'm just glad I keep going on huge breaks between posts or my PPD would also be outrageous.

I'm not. OT used to be a big part of Emuforums. I just wanted to bring the joy back. You aren't aware just how much you become a part of something until you have it taken away from you.

i am also very suprised that it changed, but when i say "people seem to be..."i mean i include myself in those "people"

EDIT to post below :Because if i would post a reply on your post Keith, that would be sort of spam so i'm doing this, anyway, you got a point there...but i think it's because of all those pritty stars, and the fact that a newbie would rather ask a question to a high ranked person the a low ranked one, that drives people to spamming,it's the same with a gsm,you can sms to persons by sending little messeges, and it's purpose is to send valuable info, but people like us (i mean teens)use it for sending stupid, useless things,it's kinda the same exept you don't get a post count and you have to pay,but what i'm trying to say is that there is almost no way to prevent spam, anybody of us could post a post wich some people call spam but what other people think is valuable and imortent info for them...i hope you have understand this

As for making posts count in the off topic. I see no problem either way. It's just a post count, I guess I will never understand why people put so much importance on it. It means nothing, but the number of posts you made. It doesn'tsignify anything, doesn't make you a better person, or make you more important then another with less of a post count.

Just dumb that people would make such a big deal about it. It's just a number.
This is what I posted in the original discussion about this matter in the Admin Forum. I also think it is a poor excuse on why people spam. Making post restrictions .. meaning you had to have so many posts to get custom avatars or custom titles .. stuff like that caused more spam then post counts in OT. Also letting spam threads go and having admins participate in them doesn't help. Those two are bigger problems then having posts count in OT .. people are going to post there regardless if they count or not. Why not give something back to the users and let them enjoy themselves with having fun with postcounts .. instead of always taking from the users.

I just think people need to spend less time worrying about Spam happening from Post Counts, and spend more time preventing it by not doing it.

Good idea Keith but may I ask what happens if people start posting spam so they can get their post count high? (just asking if that would happen, not saying it will).

Do you think our ability to ban is just there for show? If someone plans on abusing the system, I am going to give them the boot faster than they can say "Plz am lame." Samor's suggestion below also works.
