Custom titles & security fix

Two things have been done on Emuforums today, which I'd like to inform you about.

As I couldn't really think about a good solution for custom user titles, and as most users can't set them any more after we took out the off-topic posts from the post count, custom titles are now available with 50 posts and after being registered for 30 days, leaving it at that just to avoid quick spamming.

However, that means that two rules will also come in here :
[list=1][*]First off, I do NOT want to see *any* HTML in there, or I'll install a filter - you got enough possibilities to be creative already[*]If I see user titles becoming too long, we'll have to limit the length as well, and if you ask me - that'd suck ... it's up to you ![/list=1]

Then, I upgraded the forum software to the latest version today, which fixed a rather dangerous security bug, where anyone could gain access to your account - no damage has been done yet, and it isn't possible to use this any more.

Hi Bobbi, how can user titles can be come too long? :confused: I thought there was a limit of 25 characters?

I know getting to 700 for a custom title was the main reason for spamming. but now that you only need 50 perhaps it wouln't be bad to show post count's again along with location? I knew there were other way's around spamming. Just a thought.

Nah, that's probably not neccessary...

Nope, you youself cannot see it at anywhere. But if you PM and ask one of the admins really nicely they might just tell you.
