Or we go with my idea and several Ngemu-whores band together to buy her back.

Ok, I honestly believe enough has been said on the issue. While we may not agree with this new rule or restriction set in place I don't believe the thread needs to derail or go off topic any more than it has.

Yes it is a bit illogical and unwarranted, but still no need to go on a tangent, just express you're views and leave it at that for now.

I don't agree with it either, nor do I see the need for it, so I just expressed my view and left it at that.

Someone editing their post could screw up a conversation too. You guys gonna disable that too?

WTF? This is retarded. What next? Removing the ability to post? This is just as retarded as doing that.

The vote is unanimous. We like the ability to delete posts.

How much does it cost to buy the forum back?

You know what sucks most about all this? They could probably care less about what we say. This forum is no longer about emulation and fun, its about money.

If they want to prove otherwise - they should reply to this message. Otherwise we'll know what I said is true.

Not cool? you add or remove a feature because it is useful or because of your day mood? I find sometimes ketchup not cool, especially for my clothes. However, I never wanted it to disappear.

Take this thread. Tell me if in page 3 if you know what's really going on(the real reason why this thread has been opened). No posts have been deleted. This argument is far to be persuasive.

There are, as you can see more *destructive* ways to mess up a thread.

So please. Leave at least this forum with the delete feature. If you remove it, so go farther, do not allow us to edit our posts.

It's basically like the G4 TV station situation...

I guess. Dunno how often they check, but I just made a silly "deleted" post for them to check out (they remain visible to admins anyway)

My goodness. What an over reaction. When it was announced in the mod forum all the replies were positive.

I'm sorry you guys are unhappy with the change, but we do not allow it on any of our forums. You might not like the reason, but it is a logical one.
Editing usually has a time limit as well. Long enough that you can fix a typo or other error, but not so long that it should disrupt the conversation.

If we didn't care what you guys thought the thread could have been locked or removed and our contact info wouldn't be all over our webpage. But this is network wide policy. I'm surprised it wasn't changed a while ago. Sorry to have to be the bad guy and do it now.

Hmmm, why is this SO BIG of an issue? I don't see why anyone would need to delete a message unless it was the occasinal page hiccup where it double/triple posts. We can take care of that...

Aniway, a forum is a forum. There will be decisions made by the owners/partners that you will not like but like anything else, you'll have to respect them.

Tsirk let us know of this in the admin forum and the other admins were ok with it . the only thing we wanted is that you guys knew about the change.
In the end, this shouldnt change how you post on a day-to-day basis.... Unfortunatly all I can think of right now is... "Get over it".

well, we don't have to like it, do we?

either way, it's indeed no biggie. I was just surprised it was still working normally anyway.

I personally don't care too much about this, but I've seen "get over it" killing a forum before. Just so you know. Although we use a service provided by others, it's the people that make this forum, not the other way 'round. Never forget that.

At least allow long standing members with 200 or more post counts to delete their posts.

Locking down a thread that is of great concern and holds great meaning to users is actually a sign of aloofness and lack of sympathy. Your not closing it down isn't a sign of great maturity, but mearly that you're not immature.

If during the initial seven years of this forums existence the admins never saw a reason to close it down, then why bother changing it?

What other changes do you plan to implement in the coming future?

So i see your going to implement the inability to edit posts after a certain time period. From the sounds of how you worded your sentence im guessing a couple of hours will be the limit.

Isn't one of the main points of administrating the forum an effort to create as much traffic and desireablility to partake in the forum. Why do something that is such an issue disliked by its users and could potential drive them away?

PAL games at 60 FPS ???

that is why im behind this myself. in that thread a user mentioned something about a ps2 game in a ps1 thread and when i pointed it out to him he deleted the post and as a result another user didnt know what my post was referring to when he saw it. that sort of thing just confuses people since normal members cannot see a post or see the message that a post was deleted, only staff members can see it.

you don't see 95% of long standing forum regulars doing this. You could always set a minimum post count and join date limit on it. The people doing this are always new members or habitual rule breakers/delinquent community members.

Why make 95% of the long standing members suffer because of the 5%'s actions.

I understand what you mean. However the fact they can no longer delete a post should not change how they post and how they interact with other members....

Poeple are already saying that long standing members are getting too much privileges from the staff. I dont think that would be fair...

Because Crowdgather was not here for the seven first years. You have to understand that the owners have agreed to be part of Crowdgather, by doing so they agree to their policies. Its just how it goes.

I understand how users can be afraid or intimidated by "change". In this case, the arrival of a parnership and some new admins. This should not however change how you post on Emuforums. Like Samor said, you make what Emuforums is. The quality of your posts is what makes Emuforums what it is. I think you guys can do this without having to delete your posts. (Which, lets be honest here, happens not that very often...)
