I've been using the last ver of epsxe (1.70) with an .img cd image of ISS Pro Evo 2. The problem is that there is not sound in "mode select menu" or in "master league menu" or "cup menu", but the sound appears in the movie or intro of this game and in the match (crowd noise, commentaries, etc). So my question is what happens? I tried to solved it by changing the spu plugings (epsxe core, eternal, pete's dsound, etc) but nothing fix it. Another thing is that I put the same cd image in other emulators like psxfin and curiously I heard the sound of the master league's menu for example but it crashe's (in the case of psxfin) in some menu's images. Sorry for my english and I'm waiting for an answer of this little issue.

Hi
First of all I want to thank all of those who have made it possible to emulate playstation games on PC - I simply cant imagine the effort put in this, even using the program goes much way over my head at the moment!
I wanted to try this emulating program for one of my favourite PSX games, FFIX(yes, and one of favourites from the game serie!) Which Ive been looking to play for some time but my psx console and FF9 have remained in my familys home far away..
I know that there's been much problems with this specific game , but please help me get started.
I have tried several options, but I either get laggy game(videos &music), freeze on first battle, sound chopping awfully and buzzing noise on background and graphics problems.

What I can change in settings? Ive tried many guides in the net, and have mainly sticked with petes opengl and petes D3d graphic plugins, but seems to hard to find correct sound + graph combination. What boxes to tick, and what not? :)
These are my computer specs:

Processor: INTEL E8400 CORE2D 3.0GHZ 1333/6M S775
Processorcooler: Xigmatek Apache CD901 CPU cooler
Memory: 4GB 800MHZ DDR2
Motherboard: P5Q DELUXE
Soundcard: 8ch HD (VIA VT1708S)
Harddrive:SAMSUNG 500GB SATAII 16MB
Optical drive: SAMSUNG SATA 20X DVDRW MUSTA + NERO
Graph driver: ATi Radeon HD4870 - 1GB

Please, Id appreciate any help :)

I have ePSXe 1.7
Bio: SCPH 1001
Video: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Sound: ePSXe SPU core 1.7
CDRom: P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4

I just got to the point where you finish the Hero Tourney in Lohan, and you go on a "date" with Shana to play minigames. However, whenever I attempt to start a minigame, the screen goes black and nothing ever loads no matter how long I wait. It seems it doesn't matter which minigame I choose, they all do the the same thing. Also, even just trying to leave does the same thing. Should I try a different video codec or what? Any suggestions?

(EDIT: I have fixed this problem now so don't bother reading this post. I have a new problem in the post below though. *sigh*)

Hello. I'm a noob so sorry in advance.

I've just got ePSXe going and Final Fantasy 7 works fine. I want to play my PAL UK version of FF8, but I only get a blank screen. I've read the FAQ and I'm pretty sure it's because it's a copy protected game.

On my home computer the game ran fine with subchannel reading enabled, but at my university PC this isn't the case. I think my laptop has a pretty inferior DVD drive.

I've downloaded some UK-PAL ppf files for all 4 disks, but I'm completely clueless as to how to make them work. Could someone tell me how, or point me in the direction of a tutorial? The codes on the disks are: SLES-02080, SLES-12080, SLES-22080 and SLES-32080

Problems with Wipeout 3 Special Edition

Hi All

I used to run epsxe on my old computer with no problems.
For a long time, I have not played with epsxe, and only recently started playing with it again.
I now have a new computer.
Here are the specs:
ASUS p5N-E SLI MotherBoard
Intel Core2 Duo CPU
ASUS ENGTX260 graphics adapter (essentially an NVidia GTX260)
Creative X-Fi platinum
Samsung SH-W162C CD/DVD re-writer

The problem I'm having is with both ePSXe 1.7 and 1.6.0

BIOS: PAL Bios

Plugins:
Video - Petes OpenGL Driver (versions 1.75, 2.6 and 2.9)
Sound - Eternal SPU 1.50
SaPu's CD-ROM Plugin 1.3

The Problem:
I'm trying to sun Wipeout3 Special Edition, PAL version/
Everything works fine except for two tracks.
In the Classic League, the last track and in the Wipeout3 league, the second to last track.
Both these tracks have slow right down to slide show speed near the start line. I think that it has something to do with the vast expanse of clear 'sky' in those sections.
As soon as the track goes into a tunnel, the game speeds up.

I have tried a lot of things, from playing the the settings in Pete's plugin to trying different plugins (in version 1.6.0) The result is always the same.
Either no change in the behaviour, or (in the case of using a different video plugin) ePSXe will crash.

I have tried both running from an ISO, and running from the original CD.

I am now at my wits end.

If anyone has any ideas, please help.

Many thanks

i am new to using emulators and my friend set this one up for me mainly for FFVll. I decided to download resident evil 2 dual shock edition but it always freezes at the gun shop and i tried hitting esc and resuming but it was still frozen. My computer is a new Alienware M17x maxed out all except the graphics card which is only 1 Gb. The plugins im using are psx emulation cheater 2.5 with pete's openGL driver 1.77 for the video and eternal SPU plugin 1.41 for the sound and ePSXe CDR WNT/W2k core 1.7.0 for the cdrom.
Hey Everyone, I have a problem with my Metal Gear Solid Game music When I play its working good no crashes no nothing, but the music is really weird and its super annoying you cant play with the music like that.
is this the cdrom problem or emulator problem?
If you ever played metal gear solid 1 you'd know the music is really good normally, but with me the music is wierd on all stages of the game as far as i played.
I dont think its from the cdrom or what ever, I've tried more then one ISO thingy and cdrom still same problem..?
Does this problem happen with you too? Try it and please tell me. :(

Silent Hill - Freeze

Currently playing Silent Hill, the game freezes after I pick up the blood in the Hospital with the empty vial. (when going to the menu).

I've had other occasional freezes, but reloading from the memory card resolved that, but this time it keeps happening.

I've already tried switching Graphic Plugins as well, but still nothing.

This only occurs when going to the Menu btw. It doesn't freeze when doing other stuff. And it was running fine up until this point. Right now even normal memory card loading doesn't fix it.

*Settings:*

Code:
---------
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
GFX card: Radeon X1650 Series

Resolution/Color:
- 800x600 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 2
- Internal Y resolution: 2
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: on
- VRam size: 512 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 2
- Framebuffer uploads: 1

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: on
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 5/3
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: off [00000003]
---------
It should be noted that I already tried loading the CDROM directly as well with sub-channel reading enabled.
So does anyone know how to possibly fix this issue? D:

*Edit:*
Also tested in both 1.6.0 and 1.7.0.
