Weird internet connectivity issue

On my secondary XP install (which I use primarily for gaming), whenever I reboot the OS and/or reset my modem, the internet works, but after 2-3 minutes, connectivity is lost again. The same problem occurs with the XP install on my legacy PC.

However, my primary Windows 7 install shows no problems at all, and I'm getting very good connectivity and speed from it. So what's wrong here? My legacy PC is infected with the Confiker Worm and I often have that PC running alongside my main PC for downloading when I'm gaming, so I'm thinking the worm transferred itself over the network and infected the other XP install too.

Thanks.

Yeah, I always get the strangest internet issues for some reason....

Why some graphics card can't use OpenGL, even though the manufacturer says so?

*Beware: A wall of words...it's made out of flesh and bones...*

Ok, I have Intel graphics. I know that you berate the graphics card very poor, so we _skip_ that part. It's no big deal anyway.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The main question (point of interest, point of target, the pointer, etc.) is:

*Why do Intel graphics card doesn't work well with OpenGL-based applications, even though the manufacturer says so?*

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The manufacturer says Intel graphics card can support from OpenGL 1.0 to 1.3 to 2.0 and, for the very latest ones, 2.1.

My card, Intel GMA X3100, on a laptop, according to the manufacturer, says I have 2.0. However, when running OpenGL applications which requires 2.0, it crashes and fails to load/initialize/execute/debug/compile/start/build/run. (I've tested many applications, and they each give out numerous answers.)

*Does that mean, Intel didn't implement something *(or missing some files or parts of it)*, which was a standard for Nvidia and ATi, and causes us to say that Intel GMAs sucks like hell?*

I'm just dying to know why...there's no answers from Google, Yahoo!, Ask!, About.com, etc. popular search and information sites.

In fact, I just thought of something:

*Why can't we just go tell Intel directly *(like using Customer Services, Feedback, etc., not in the face and spat everything out)* that they need to improve OpenGL capabilities so that they can join the Graphics War *(between Nvidia and ATi, acting as the The Third World)* and compete competitively?*

This is a puzzler. I checked around online and in your archives as much as I could, but did not come up with a solution.

Running ePSXe 1.60 in Linux.
Using Plugins PEOpS SoftGPU (version 1.18) PEOpS OSS SPU (version 1.9)

Here is my issue. I am playing the game, everything works perfectly. In game movies look great and no glitches have popped up in battle or inventory screens. (tho inventory screens tend to slow down, but I think that is just my computer)

But then I come to an In game movie from disk one that I have dubbed the "Dance'o'Doom". The man characters dance, halfway though the video just stops, music continues to play and I am stuck holding a controller cursing myself for not saving at that last save point.

I HAVE NOT been using save states as I see alot of the video problems with FF8 are about.

Any ideas? I am iching to play though this game again

Cleaning a motherboard that has had a sugary liquid on it?

Long story short: My girlfriend was drinking some kool-aid, and her cat knocked it off the desk, where the liquid proceeded to splash through the vent-holes on the side of the case, landing on the motherboard and causing a short that made the computer shut off immediately. I told her to unplug the PC, let it dry for a few hours, and hope it powers on. She let it dry for 8 hours, plugged it in and fired it on. Sure enough, it powered right on and proceeded to boot into windows. However, about 15 minutes later it shut itself down, but it started right back up, and did it over and over again. Trying to figure out what's wrong, I examined the motherboard and there was a thin layer of dried on sugary stuff on some of the circuits, which I assume is causing the problem.

Is there anything I can do to safely remove the sugar from the motherboard?

It basically covers the basics as well what plugins a work properly on anybody computer running either on Pentium 3 to Quads along with more advanced stuff on how to get either Ps1 Discs working and Cd images thats been personally ripped from their collection.I honestly hope this helps any of the newbies and people who might come think EpsxE is challenging when its very simple and effective to those who wanna keep retro gaming alive.

The Video Tut is here.

I picked up a used one at Gamestop for $70 bucks and the faceplate has some minor scratches on it, while none of them are extremely bad with as much as I've been playing on this thing they've started to become annoying.

I'd also like to get a better battery pack, cause the 1800mAh I got with this thing doesn't last long enough when I'm playing hour eating games like Disgaea. Also, some sorta of protective screen covering to keep my new faceplate safe from any future scratches.

I heard from a friend that the computer version had more add on quests, so I went out and found that but i finished installing it and it says:failed to initialize renderer get adapter desc()failed. Now i'm great with hardware (if it's a hardware problem i can fix almost anything) but terrible with software so what i need to know is: do i need to take my laptop apart and put in a better graphics card or is there some kind of program i can get?

Alrighty. So I want to purchase a newer graphics card, I just have no idea what is supported by my system. I dloaded WinAudit which wouldn't even give me a name for my motherboard. I really want at least 512 MB graphics card, yet I don't know if I should go out and purchase one only to have it not supported.
what should I do????
