Well, my TEAC 532S (SCSI-CDROM) and my PIONEER 305 (SCSI-DVD) are working for some reasons
![]() Ahem... still I have to advise (even with supported drives) to use M3S/SBI files in my plugin, since the direct reading modes are not very optimized (yet)

I can tell you a DVD drive that does NOT read subchannel data. I have a Creative 8x, DVD8400E, drive and it doesn't support reading of subchannel data, at least that's what clonecd says...

Here are some NOT compatable list:
Compaq Liton CD-4848 Philips CDD4801 CD-RW Philips CDD4851 CD-RW Although the 4851 says it isn't compatable, when i try extracting the sub-channel from FFIX_Disc1 I do get a 28MB sub file.

My Hitachi DVD-ROM GD2500 works quite well with FF9 on the interal epsxe driver
but not with petes driver (doesn't read at all). Stupid drive. Good work pete and the epsxe crew.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
the best choice for your subchannel-reading-experiences is "TATAAA": the fine Toshiba SD-M Series (mine is an old 1302). Hear my words: if you want to get rid of that crap your dealer normally invites you to buy from his store, just ask him to get a Toshi. I had many problems with other DVD- and CD-ROM-drives in the PAST!!! Never had any with this - reads everything fast enough and is worth its (ok-ok, it sh´dn´t be that expensive...) money. The rest is: Regards, Kungaan |

I'd have to agree with Kungaan. The Toshiba DVD drives are very well made. Quiet, reads most types of CD's well, can read my fairly scratched up CD's, and reads the subchannel data fine for both Pete's and ePSXe's plug-ins.
I have an SD-Mxxx model. |

These are my results with FF9 ITA:
With my HP CDWriter 7200 Plus the creation of M3S/SBI file is not possible and also the internal epsxe CD core doesn't work. The CD is not readed (doesn't spin) in both the cases. With my Yamaha CDR200t cdrecorder: the M3S file is reported as "bad" by Pete plugin. The SBI file is created but doesn't work. Also the internal epsxe CD core fails to work with the game. In this case the CD is readed. Excuse for my english but i'm a poor italian boy...
