Same here. Also, my CD-RW (LG GCE-8160B) supports reading subchannels.

I'm not surprised that Sony CD-ROm drives can do subchannel reading. They probably inplemented a lot of the firmware the PSX drive uses.

As for my drive, I don't know, as it appears that subchannels are only needed for PAL games, and I live in the NTSC type area.

Greetings,

Although I also only play NTSC versions (and I usually make ISO images anyways), both of my drives support sub-channel audio. My drives are as follows:

TDK 12X10X32 VeloCD (but the sumbeetch crashes everytime I overburn)

Creative 12X PC-DVD drive

about the TDK...I can overburn discs, and the discs themselves work np, but the drive locks up after every other one 100% consistantly, even if the overburn is only a MB or two, and Nero always reports a failed burn...very annoying

Sincerely,
TastEPlasma

The new Lite-On 40x12x48 supports sub-channel. This burner is faster than my 40x Plextor burner at work and it cost $60 bucks less! Go figure.

My LiteOn 40x16x10 (LTR-1610B) works fine, as does my Sony 24x5x DVD Drive (DDU-220E)

Sony CR-X140E (Atapi) can read sub channel data in DAO RAW-96 mode write in DAO RAW-96 mode but it can't write correct EFM , and it got some problem with pete's sub channel reading.
Lite-on 24x10x40 LTR-24102B (Atapi) can read/write sub channel data in DAO RAW-96 mode, and write EFM correctly, works perfect with pete's cdr plugin, playing BoF4 perfectly, no sound problem too

yes - Yamaha CRW3200E , ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.5.1.
pretty sure all yamaha burners support subchannel

no - Hival 12xDVD (MT1316B BDV212B)
updated to a firmware not made by dvd makers - don't think it supported it before though

My Lite-On 24X10X40 works with subchannel perfectly!!

I guess all Lite-On CD-writers support subchannel option like people already mention before.

Hi you Guys. Could you be more specific. what is your liteon number. liteon ltd-122??? what firmware do you use??

I don't think, that all liton drives with all firmwares support subchannel reading at all.

if you want to know, just read CloneCD help with the supported cdrom drive, it got a list of drive support reading sub, BUT!!!! even thought it support reading sub, it doesn't mean it's going to work with pete's driver, as like pete say already, he's testing the command to read sub, and some cdrom may use different command *maybe similar but could be not*
so amano just read that, hehe, it told you everything

You didn't get me. I KNOW that my liteon is supporting pete's subchannel reading. I just wanted all the others to be more precise.

It's possible that new CD/DVD-ROM features can be added via a firmware update.

So let's post our firmware version too. Clone CD will report that too.

Under CloneCD's Help file, there is a section call Supported writer. Check that if you want to know which drive can and with which firmware.
