epxse VGS combine?

EPSXE
- has many features(savestate what a great feature!) yet the graphics is a bit crappy becoz my video card can't accommodate the req. of some plug - ins(all i know is whenever i configure any of Pete's plug-in that i have and clicked the NICE button it just make the game slower tough it make some improvements than the FAST button but its not enough if i compare it to VGS.(some plugins that has a feature of graphic enhancements make my emulator crash btw)

VGS
- great graphics as it almost look like playing in a real PSX but the drawback is it only plays CDs and not ISO's but whats worst is sometimes the game stops and even if i eject/insert the CD and resume it still futile.(epsxe makes up for it with its change CD/iso feature).

now my question is how can EPSXE make its graphics like VGS? is there a plug-in that can do that?

PS:sorry if i offend something and for a crappy grammar for im just a noob

Look, if your video card is bad. it is because you need a pc that is twice more powerful than the ps1.
I think you better use psx 1.13, using vgs will make the video to be worse than ps1 or epsxe.

please post your spec, we will tell you if it is enough or not.

software rendering in vgs

VGS is rendering ps1 3d grahics in software mode and has no support for d3d, you can select a software d3d rendering plugin in epsxe as well, also, you can use iso games in vgs provided you have daemon tools to mount it.

you need to get a better video card if your current one can not stand up against plugins like the OGL2. just out of curiosity though, what video card are you using now with your system?

Try the soft plugin (peops).

Try P.E.Op.S Software plugin in ePSXe, or try using the pSX emulator

VGS doesnt have great graphics, except maybe on 2d games which will have same effect as a Software plugin in ePSXe or pSX which is basically software graphics too :P

ok first thing is about the specs. what i use now is Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76 then..

this is what i see when i look on the properties of My Computer

Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz 96.0 mb of RAM WinXP ver 2002 serv pack 2
(i get upset typing this as i saw all of your PC specs..)
video card? i don't really know the way that "i don't know how to know it"

btw whenever i configure the Video,Audio,CDROM there was this error that says:

"This application has failed to start bec. WNASPI32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

then the emulator will freeze for a moment with a massive increase of my PF Usage which is time consuming. what can i do to get rid of this error?

if in your point vgs is not in your standards well i can't disagree with that since your PCs are more advanced than what i have.

our more advanced PCs can run epsxe 3-10 times faster than full speed

but I used to emulate ePSXe on a amd k6-2 500mhz with 64mb ram and onboard graphic, and it was playable, a athlon 1GHz with 128MB memory was enough for full speed, now urs is way better than mine back then, I used to use the DX6 pete's plugin also

that wnaspi32.dll problem seem related to a plugin problem, did you get the ePSXe package from the site? it shouldnt display that with those, select "ePSXe WNT/W2K Core" in the cdrom plugins option you can also just google wnaspi32.dll to get the file

there's plenty guides around to get nice graphics in your PC, basically with pushing the "Fast/Nice" default options in the dx6 plugin should give you a difference between em and trying the options there can give you better lookign graphics, but if u still like the VGS graphics more we suggested before a Software plugin, or playing pSX (althou im not sure how that one will work in your PC)

oh and, my PC isnt that great is it? xD

psx emulation doesnt really require powerful machines

PD: i did just check a fast Troubleshooting FAQ -- READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU POST!! search and the wnasi32.dll issue was there, be sure to check it for more issues

Try the emulator called Psx or use epsxe and set it to fast. Then jus change the resolution to the enxt available and then change the bilinear filtering, that should do it or you could use peops a software plugin that relies in cpu power instead of the graphic card.

To check what graphic card you have, right click on your desktop, properties, configuration, there you should see it.

Seriously, is that hard to google for "check what video card I have"?

about wnaspi32 ive download the link that is given on the thread and i've open the archive and what i see is the wnaspi32.dll and bunch of files(which are unknown to me but it seems to bear some importance).. then whats next?

I tried using pSX and the command line open then viola! i dont have a directx9! oh well now i doubt that directx9 and pSX will work on my pc...

anyways i now learned that indetifying your video card is very easy especially if you ask in a forums rather than knocking you head in knowing it hahaha! unfortunately here it is:

Plug and play monitor on Sis 650_651_M650_740

so after all its just a standard monitor device and in the meantime im stuck with this graphics untill i can manages to buy a newer pc w/ a video card haha

O..O! o_____o!, °_°!......WHAT?!

DirectX is a platform needed by (mostly) all known programs, How the **** you're even running emulators, while its in their original minimal most needed requirments.

Quote:
ePSXe System requirements
Previous Top Next

The System you need for good performance often depends on the game you want to play. While for example a game with many complex graphics such as Final Fantasy 9 will require a rather fast PC, you'll be able to play Tekken 1 on a low-end PC already.

During our tests, we noticed a HEAVY difference between, for example, the AMD K6/2 - 500 Mhz processors and the PII 500 Mhz processors. It seems that the slow FPU of the AMD K6-x processors can cause up to 50% less speed than with a comparable Intel processor. The Athlon and Duron processors, however, don't experience this problem any more though.

Minimum system requirements :
P200MMX or compatible

64 MB of RAM

Fast graphic card (like the voodoo 2)

16x CD-Rom

Windows 9x

DirectX 7a

Recommended system configuration :
Pentium II 500 or faster

256 MB of RAM

A fast DirectX or Opengl compatible graphic card, e.g. the NVidia GeForce 2

Fast CD-ROM with good access times

Windows 2000 or XP

DirectX 8

As we said, results may vary. If you're above the recommended system configuration and still have problems, it might either be a bug in the emulator or a mis-configuration. For help with these issues, make sure to check the configuration part in this help file !

2. Connectix VGS Minimum Requirements
************************************************** **********

Required:
* Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.
* Required: Pentium II, Pentium III, Celeron, Athlon, or compatible processor, 266MHz minimum (400 MHz highly recommended). MMX technology required.
* L2 cache.
* 32 MB of RAM.
* 75 MB of hard drive space.
* 16-bit video card (24-bit or higher recommended).
* Video card that supports High Color (16-bit color).
* DirectX 6.1 compatible video and sound card with drivers.
* 8x or faster CD-ROM or desktop DVD-ROM drive.

If DirectX 6.1 is not installed on your computer, Connectix Virtual Game Station CD-ROM installs it for you.
*Bump* I'm out of here *Bump*.......*Bump*

oh, I didnt remember WindowsXP came without DirectX9 originally

just install DirectX9, it will just add stuff to your computer not replace it (basically), so your old apps will work normal, but you can try the new ones like pSX

...ahh i think you all have the right to laugh and to stab me becoz i said something wrong

recently(just 10 min ago) i finaly remember to identify the directx ver.(its just in dxdiag file haha.) and its right im stupid. My computer has directx9.0c all along hahaha...

now that my terrific incident of stupidity is over here's what the real error whenever i use the pSX emu:

"This application has failed to start bec. d3dx9_26.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

oh by the way i have this emurayden emulator. i tried using it and its just like using VGS (i guess?)

in the meantime i'll follow hanibal81's advice about the plugins
