Help please.. FFVII Black Screen

everytime i start the FFVII (FF7) game using the CD, i keep on getting a black screen. I'm new to using the ePSXe and i dont know what to do...

Please help... I've seen my brother play FF games in this, and it hasn't been touched, so im figuring i Dont need to download anything, unless it is better...

Im using Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.74 as Video
ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2. as Sound
and ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.
Also, everytime i run the game, it just has a black screen. Also, my bottom bar thing shows. (i dont know the name, but it has the start button on it. I think its Toolbar...?)

Can anyone help me? Please...?

what version of epsxe are you using? can you post your system specs?

Um.. Im using ePSXe Enhanced PSX Emulator... The file that it is contained in is called epsxe 160. Also, my CD is working properly. I know that

Oh yea, btw.. Im using i think a NVIDIA eGeForce 7600 GT.
Windows XP
I have about 75.3 GB of free space

ok right now both the plugins and the emulator version you are using have been updated with newer ones, i suggest you download 1.7.0 and use this guide to help you set it up as it contains just about everything you would possibly need to know to get things working. you might find this thread to be useful as well.

if you have any other problems with it post back and ill see what i can do.
