Fullscreen on TV?
For some reason I can't get epsxe to run in fullscreen on my tv. If I tell it to run fullscreen it automatically goes back over to my monitor. I have my tv hooked up via component cables, it's just a regular tv, 640x480. Does epsxe have the ability to detect that I've got a tv connected or anything? Or would I maybe tell my computer to use the tv as the primary display or something?

if you use epsxe 1.7.0 you will not have to do that, it was a bug of some sorts in versions 1.5.2/1.6.0 but it has since then been fixed.

the F4 key toggles the internal limiter on/off. i believe if you have it enabled along with one of the plugin limiters they will conflict with one another, so disable the plugins limiter and use the internal one instead. i have a feeling this is the problem for you because i saw more people getting lag with the dual core bug opposed to people having the games running to fast because of it, and since its been corrected in 1.7.0 it can be ruled out automatically anyway.

That doesn't seem to work. I turned off the fps limiter for Pete's plugin and then set the internal one to 60fps but it was still running too fast. The F4 key made a tiny difference but not enough of one to actually make it playable, it was like it was switching between 2.5x normal speed and 2.4x hahaha. Oh well, it works fine just doing the cpu affinity thing so why bother trying to fix something that isn't broken right?

That would be correct, unless I'm doing something wrong. If it was thought to be fixed though maybe it is a hardware specific problem that should be looked into? I will post all of my graphics settings and hardware later when I get home from work, I could just have some settings that are a little screwy who knows.

Alright here are the pictures of my settings. If I hit f4 in game it displays the frame limit on/off in the top right but it doesn't actually limit the framerate, I've only been able to get it to work by using the affinity to only use one cpu core.
I have an AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ Black Edition on a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Rev. 2. Video card is an evga 8800GT, and I'm running the emulator in full screen if that matters. ![]() ![]() **EDIT** I'm also using XP Pro SP2, not sure if you would need to know that or not. the AMD might be the problem. download the dual core optimizer from here (3rd item on the page) and run it, then post if it has improved anything.

Then the multiple core "issue" for ePSXe v1.7.0, is "fixed" ?
I wonder... there was something to do into an executable file to use one core permanently. I think it was with imgcfg or something named alike, to set permanently the executable's affinity. Might be useful for ePSXe<1.7.0 users with multiple cores issues. |
