Epsxe doesn't work

It never gets past this screen regardless of what I do:

I tried configuring this but it is useless

Now some form of pictured instruction needs to be posted because the tutorials posted here don't explain anything because if they did I wouldnt have created this topic.

I'm not sure what tutorials are you referring to but in mine I explained everything in detail, including running the emulator.

Sorry but your guide is not complete and is missing so much information is't not even funny

For starters it's unclear about what you mean by download the plugins.
and
your guide says to download the following but they are no where to be found

OGL for Nvidia Geforce cards (any type) and ATi Radeon (any type)
D3D for non 9xxx Radeons
D3D DX6 for Integrated and other

Links are there, you just have to read.
And you don't have to send me PMs, I check every thread I posted in.
Anyway, if ePSXe is too complicated for you maybe you should try pSX emulator.

Btw: What PSX games are you planning to play?

To you and from your perspective the tutorial is complete so of course you are going to say that, it's because you wrote it.

But you can't go around applying what you know onto everyone else and automatically assume that just because you know and understand it that everyone else should as well

I'm telling you straight off that your tutorial isn't complete and missing crucial need to know information I know this because I write manuals for all sorts of stuff.

I can tell you for starters you are not clear about what exact plugins need to be downloaded or do all of them need to be.

The second thing is yes you supplied the link to the plugins but when you go there, it's missing 3 plugins for the video, there is no audio plug in and the rest that you have listed below for the plugins that you have listed for CDROM plug ins are not there either.

The 3rd thing is you explain nothing at all about the following screen
I don't even know what I am supposed to be doing here. I have no idea what is what and you didn't even warn anyone that this screen was going to come up.

1) How do i know anything on this screen is correct
2) What is supposed to be checked off?
3) What does select device mean
4) What's all this FFS stuff?
5) What does anything in the MISC section on the bottom left mean
6) What is with the section in the middle called compatibility
7) What's the default settings (Fast-Nice) mean

the 4th thing is you have a configuration screen being shown in the tutorial that isn't the saem configuration button that I saw?

So far I counted 4 things and 6 sub sections to the 3rd one that need some serious explanation.

Would you like me to continue showing you that yoru tutorial is not complete or would you like to fix it

No wonder I can't get this running, it's because I only have half the instructions.

I have to admit you are right. That link only leads to GPU plugins.
Some time ago download section was broken so the link i posted there would in fact lead to complete set of plugins, not just GPU.
Seems like someone fixed the section but I was not notified so the old link was left in the tutorial.

The correct link would be this one.
Thank you for the input, I will fix tutorial right away.

I didn't explain it as plugins are 3rd party and every one looks different.
Settings are game specific so you will have to visit this thread.

I hope that you realize that tutorial is meant for emulator configuration and not plugin configuration,
as I already said the plugins are not made by the ePSXe authors.
For starters you should use default settings and run BIOS to see if the emulator is working in the first place.

Btw: Fast (games are running at unlimited speed, usually 200+ FPS while nice means that games will be running properly (50, 60 FPS) and look, well nice),

Yes, all three Syphon Filters should work fine under ePSXe, and to my knowledge with default setting.

Do note that this tutorial is not official and that I'm not affiliated with ePSXe team in any way.
ePSXe comes with a help so you might check that out but I doubt that you will find more info there.

You are giving way too many vague answers and way, way, way, too many generic answers that explain a whole lot of nothing you need to be as explicitly detailed as you can.

You or someone else needs to take a screens shots of every page in the emulator showwing every little ting that is being clicked, set, exact plugins being used and every single setting those specific plug ins being used You or someone needs to post evry thing that it takes from start to finish to launch and properly run a game in this

that is set to run this thing
Show every thing being clicked and every plug in thats being selected.

A good example is this:
You said the Syphon filiter games should run on default settings. That explains nothing,

Explain what exactly you mean by default settings, what default settings, under what?
you lost me

I have no idea how anyone got this to work there are just simply way too many combinations to sit through if that's even what is needed to be done.

I have no idea if any settings are correct and if I somehow launch the emulator and it starts to load and then stops I have no idea what to click to fix it or if what I check off or check on is the correct thing----

As I said there are just too many variables involved with trying to launch a game

OK. I'll try to guide you trough the setup myself.
First, what are your PC specs(CPU, RAM, Graphic card) and what OS are you using?

For the record I'm assuming I grabbed all the plug ins
On top of that I might be using the wrong type of image file

DELL DESKTOP using WINDOWS XP
AMD Athlon Dual-Core Proccessor 5600+
2.8GHz
2MB L2 Cache
3GB, DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
16x DVD+/-RW Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Intergrated Graphics
Intergrated Audio
Dell USB Keyboard and Optical Mouse
I added a E-GeForce 8400 GS 256 MB DDR2 Graphics card to it.

Completely delete ePSXe directory as you don't need every plugin but only one for each section.

Download the newest ePSXe from here.
Go to the plugins download page and download "Pete's OpenGL2 PSX GPU Plugin 2.08" and "Eternal SPU v1.41" and put them in the plugins directory.

Open ePSXe and go to Config->Video, select OpenGL2 plugin and click Configure and choose the nice setting (99% of the games works with that setup),
choose resolution to your preference.
Once you are done go to Config->Sound, chect top 3 checkboxes and select Eternal SPU plugin (not lite). You don't have to configure it as default setting will do.
To setup a BIOS go to Config->BIOS and browse to the SCPHXXXX.bin file (where XXXX is PSX model number).
Skip Cdrom configuration as it's not needed at this moment and go to Config->Gamepad ->Pad 1 and map the keys you want to use.

Once you are done click OK and go to File->Run BIOS.
Has the emulation started? You should see SCEtm screen.

You know I never even bothered to say thank you yet. So thank you very much for all your help it's much apprieciated. Sorry but I had about had it with this and got so absorbed with how gay this was getting I forgot.

I am not worried about the controller because I use Xpadder so I map everything to my 360 controler
Yeah it's configured, I didn't even see that screen last time.

Now how would I go about launching syphon filter
It's set up as these 3 files:
.cdd
.img
.sub

I got how to launch it but now I have no sound?
Such as when I fire a gun in the game there is no background or ambient noises on top of that I have teh background of certain vioce overs and music playing even after I shut the emulator off.

How do you fix these issues?

You are not shuting down emulator properly. When you want to quit press ESC and close emulator with File->Exit.
In order to shut the instance of ePSXe that you currently left running you will have to kill the process from task manager.

As for sound try this:
Go to Eternal spu configuration and use this settings:
