PEC help

im having problems when trying codes with Star Ocean Second Story

when i activate the codes it dosnt work in the game like when i activated the Max Fol code i still had none. (near the beginning of the game)

is there a Must be on i have to activate? or does it automatically activate?

its probably somthing simple im overlooking just thought id ask cause i cant figure it out

could be the fact that you didnt correctly activate the cheats. do any cheats work at all, or just some? are you sure you entered them in correctly, and that they are even working cheats in the first place?

did you enter the codes correctly, using send to plugin, then choosing PEC in the emulator config? and are you sure the codes really work?

First of all, ok I deleted the post. Thx. Second, Star Ocean Ex is the anime version of Star Ocean the videogame. But anyhow I remember what I did with it. I went back to my actual Playstation, looked up Gameshark cheats and theres a "Must Be On" code. Its friggin' long so I didn't bother copying it down on paper then type it in one by one. So yea, last time I checked [pec] they don't have a "Must Be On" code for Star Ocean: The Second Story so that must the one reason. I can go look up the code for you if I can find it, but it would be a super hassle to type it in one by one into [pec]. Only if it worked like the VirtualBoy Advance (GBA) Emulator. Copy and paste then your done.

does anyone know how to work the codes that are codes like "Slot 1 Item ?" where u have to put in another part of the code so that it puts the right item?

Ok for example Slot 1 Item code is 8009ACD0 ???? . Now the website/guide you find this code from usually have a list that looks something like this:

5001 - Magic Canvas
5002 - 'Spring'
5003 - 'The Scream'
5004 - 'Judgment Day'
5005 - 'The Last Supper'
5006 - Portrait A
5007 - Portrait B
5008 - Portrait C
5009 - Portrait G
500A - Portrait I
500B - Portrait D
500C - Portrait F
500D - Portrait J
500E - Portrait H
500F - Portrait E
5010 - Portrait L
5011 - Portrait K
5012 - Scribbles
5013 - Victorial Card
5014 - Mortalial Card
5015 - Revival Card
5016 - Fol Up Card
(goes on)

Now find the item that you want to appear in Slot 1 (ie. Fol Up Card). Now according to the list of codes, Fol Up Card is code 5016 (5016 - Fol Up Card). Back to the Slot 1 Item code which is 8009ACD0 ???? . Replace "????" (8009ACD0 ????) with the code for Fol Up Card (5016), which then you should have 8009ACD0 5016 as your final code.

Overall summary= just replace "????" with the item code.

Man I believe that this is my first actual topic that no one hated on. Besides I love this game too much. Well actually I just love it, not that much.

Damn it. Are you joking? I typed all that for nothing. Anyhow Im keep it short. Here is a simple step by step help to guide you through adding cheats :

First run [pec] The Interface (pec.exe)

Click on 'File' and then on 'User Database'

Click 'Add Cheat' then 'New Cheat' will apear in the cheat-list

Change the title of your cheat in the title box (for example : 'game name - cheat name')

Fill out your codes in the text boxes under the code-listbox

And click on add

Repeat those step until you've entered all the cheats you want

Check all the checkbox in the cheats-list you wish to activate

Finally click on the bottom ok, it will close the window

Click "Send Cheats to Plugin" in [pec] and you're done!

Keep in mind that it won't modify the built-in database it adds a user.inf.
If you want to activate your own codes you'll have to select them in the User Database.

I clicked "Send Cheats to Plugin", and re-started my ePSXe emulator, went to configure my Video plugin, and it's not there. Ha ha.

Did you put the PEC plugin in your plugins folder?

I did do that, though. And is ePSXe supposed to be in a specific directory? Or does it find it?

ePSXe doesn't need to be anywhere; it works off registry entries.

I don't know if I understand your question. You said it isn't there. What were you referring to, your video plugin or the PEC plugin?

It said "Press Send Cheats to Plugin", and then I went to start ePSXe. Clicked on
Configure -> Video, but I didn't see the PEC plugin available.

Nothing seems to work right for me, ha ha. I'll keep trying.

And you have the DLL unzipped and placed in the plugins folder, eh?

Have you tried another emulator, like PSXeven, SSSPSX, or PCSX?
