Can you please help me

I downloaded epsxe emulator. when i go to the directory where the files are located my computer seems to slow down and when it loads it takes about a half a minute to load and the computer frezzes until it has loaded. the games load just fine but they are kinda slow. do you have any advice to help me out? my computer has an amd 1.4 thunderbird geforce 3 60 gig hard drive 512 megs of ram. thanks for the help

When was the last time you checked your computer for fragmentation, viruses, etc> ?

Also, post your plugin's, and what settings you have them on. thanks!

i check my computer for viruses every day. and i am useing petes plugins. with open gl. the only setings i changed was that i made the resolution higher. should i change any of the settings ? does it matter what bios i use because there are a lot of diferent versions ? thanks for the help

Make sure you keep the resolution at 640 480 for now and see what happens
Well if you read the readme for ePSXe it tells you the bios they tested it on.
BTW if you don't have it - DONT ASK FOR IT HERE or they will ban you I am sure of it or punish you in some way. I cant and wont tell you how to get a bios but there are threads on how to dump your own bios.
defrag your hard drive perhaps? might clear up the computer freezing issues... not 100% sure though because Im not there to 'feel' how your computer is you know?
try putting the settings on 'fast' first, see if it works, then try 'nice'
if they both fail, try the directX plugin from Pete, perhaps something of your opengl is messed up.

and finally, what game(s) are you trying to play??
