If you have that configs stored in ePSXecutor or Delta, you should send them to Betamax, so he can include them in next Delta release.

Hi, Im just getting into this PSX emulation, and Iv spent the last few days fiddlin around with plugins, reading readme files, and testing testing testing, trying to play my "Panzer Front" game on my PC, http://www.geocities.com/panzerfrontuk/ its an amazing game by the way, most realistic war game Iv ever played, and Iv played alot of them, its a shame its not well known, I think its because it wasnt released untill 2001 (that may be in Japan and even later in the west) and its kind of a niche game that would be very difficult to peaple not interested in WWII tactics the game sort of works, though I get crashes on some battles, Iv not been able to make an ISO out of it because my disk is really scratched up and wont read some sectors. Its not on your list, now the question I would like to ask is, what is your definition of 100% perfect? as all games Iv used with PSX emulator have a bad resolution, even with the internal resolutions both at very high with my Geforce FX 5500, and desktop resolutions tested and tested and tested at diffrent resolutions, one thing remains constant, the game seems to big, it looks zoomed in a bit to much on all games, and pixilated because of this command and conquer Red alert Retaliation for example, the vehicles are like twice the size that they are on my TV screen, and it seems like I see less of the battlefeild, as I tried to describe it before, it seems "zoomed in" is this normal? I use all of the supposedly best plugins, 2.6 petes opengl, epsxe 1.6, and the PE.Ops spu or whatever its called 1.9, though that comes to another question, I downloaded that plugin, and in the zip file was a folder called " src " and it has lots of small files in it, what is it for? where am I supposed to put it? it isnt mentioned in the readme so are all ePSXe games supposed to have this zoomed in resolution feel? or am I doing something wrong. I hope youll try the game and add it to the list, its definitly worth the play, Iv probably gotten more hours out of it than any other single player game ever, its a sort of hidden Gem of a game, not well known, but if you like realistic war games, you can easily fall in love with it. heres some good reviews if you dont wanna take my word for it But remember, those pixilated screen shots you see on web sites rarely do a game justice, and some of the reviews were written based on the Japanese version, and some of the points that they note as unfavorable, they fail to realise are easily turned off in the options http://www.geocities.com/panzerfrontuk/review.html http://www.videogamereview.com/Plays...3_3728crx.aspx http://www.teamps2.com/teamps2/soft_rev.php/36 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=1507 http://www.gametour.com/site/review.php/title/33 Last edited by __Creeper__; December 19th, 2004 at 05:34. |

The src folder contains the source code for the plugin. If you aren't going to compile the plugin yourself then you can delete it. As for the zoomed in problem, I haven't noticed it with any games that I've played. Have you tried using a different video plugin?

How is your gpu plugin configured? Are you using 'keep psx aspect ratio'? If so, disable it.

Iv tried with keep ratio checked and unchecked, as well as a good handfull of diffrent video plugins. ok, let me get this straight, theres GPU, thats video plugin isnt it? then SPU sound plugin? by the way, Keep ratio makes the panzer front game look closer to what it is on the playstation when I compare the two, does my actual desktop resolution make a diffrence perhaps? I mean my REAL desktop resolution, not refering to the option in the ePSXe video config, my real desktop resolution is at 1024 by 768 on my 17" monitor Iv tried 1152 * 864 and 1024 * 768 in my ePSXe video config, as well as a slew of other resolutions from the lowest to the highest. right now, its the closest Iv been able to get it to the real thing, I wish I could take a screen shot of the games when played on TV, that way I could show you a screen shot of the ePSXe version and let you see what I mean ![]() again, is your definition of 100% perfect mean that it looks the same on the computer as on the playstation? or atleast almost indistinguishable? or does this simply refer to frame rates and glitches Last edited by __Creeper__; December 20th, 2004 at 00:42. |

Current video settings are, though they havent ever stayed the same for more than 10 or 15 minutes of test playing Fullscreen mode though i bounce back between it and window mode for testing Desktop res 1152 * 864 Window size 1000 * 700 color depth 32 bit Keep psx aspect ratio checked no render to texture unchecked X and Y res 2/2 texture filtering 0 like I say though, Iv been everywhere with these settings Hi res textures 2 Gfx card vram 256 use pixel shader for window checked show FPS display checked use fps limit checked auto detect fps checked fps limit 200 off screen drawing 2 framebuffer effects 3 framebuffer upload 2 full screen filtering checked shader effects 1 shader level 1 vlicker fix 0 Scanlines 255 MDEC filter checked Bios 1001, but also tried 5500 for the same results what Cdrom Plugin should I use? Iv not tested any of these, I just used the first one I tried, could this have an effect on the resolution? the one I use now is Pete's CDR ASPI/IOCTL Driver 1.11 One more thing, I dont know if it makes a diffrence, but when I first turn on the ePSXe emulator, and click config video or sound or Cdrom or anything, it gives me an error "outofsync.bmp" followed by a whole bunch of unreadable characters, but I can click OK and then proceed with changing settings without any problems, and this only happens once, or untill I exit ePSXe and re launch it and go to config again |

Have you checked to see if the PS4NET plugin is selected in the netplay menu or if it's in the plugins folder? If you want an easy to use CD plugin, try either Xeven's or SaPu's plugins. If you want something that's more advanced, try using P.E.Op.S., which is an open source continuation of Pete's plugin.

Try deleting the PS4NET plugin, hopefully that will get rid of the outofsync.bmp error.

Well...Yes.... For plugins: Use Pete's D3D/OGL 1.75 GPU, Eternal 1.41 SPU and P.E.Op.S CDR plugins.

Ok, I see youve added those games to the list, and youve added panzer front as 100% perfect, now, mine works perfect, but it doesnt look perfect, would you mind telling me what plugins and settings you used for best results? that is, if you or anyone has tested and found some. a side question if someone dont mind answering it, does MDEC filter have effect on anything other than movies? |
