There was a noticeable difference when I messed with the settings. If I set it to something it didn't like, it immediately went back to what it was like with the previous setting when I set it back (so it was easy to experiment with). For example, if I set framebuffer uploads to 0 in the OGL2 plugin, the effect was immediate (duplicate cursors) but if I set it back to 1 or 2 it fixed it up without weird effects or having to restart the game.

Here's some pictures I took last night while testing. The first two pictures are with P.E.Op.S. and the last two are with Pete's D3D plugin (I didn't bother taking pictures of the rest ). Notice the fuzziness in the menu with the D3D plugin; I'm not sure why the D3D plugins did that.

I know but I forgot about it until after I took those pictures . Besides, sometimes the F8 pictures don't get the FPS display and I wanted people to see what settings I used with those pictures.

Hmm, I did not see the topic creators post any news about Syndicate Wars for PSX NTSC, that works 100% perfect too, infact all the games I tried worked perfectly with ePSXe 1.60, I remeber Gran Turismo 1 had slight problems but in 1.60 the ePSXe team made everything perfect, or atleast perfect on my pc, thanx ePSXe team I have a ATI 8500dv a-i-w 64mb, 1.9Ghz P4, 512mb sdram, XP pro sp1. I like to use Pete's OpenGL plugin especially for games like Kings Field 1 & 2. Sound, Pad, and cd plugins are all pretty good so it doesn't matter which one I choose.

Have you tried FF games? That are the ones giving more problems. If you have played through them without problems, consider yourself fortunate. I doubt you can make it through Dali's FMV without a hitch, though.

Armored Core: Project Phantasma (NTSC) 100% Perfect Armored Core: Master of Arena (NTSC) 100% Perfect Also the MDK and Nectaris that I mentioned were both NTSC, sorry. Ghost In The Shell Has a lot of slowdown. I'm still trying different plugs and different settings to try and fix it though. [edit] After a search in the forums I tried the recommended P.E.O.p.S Soft 1.16 Game is 100% so far. I'll play through it for awhile to make sure[/edit] Last edited by sub7th; November 8th, 2004 at 16:52.. |

sub7th: GITS seems to have the same problem as the Jumping Flash series, maybe ePSXe is not 100% compatible with games featuring robot animals Merlin402: Please re-read the second last paragraph of the first post, and keep in mind that it was not written by me, but is merely a translation of Eileens' original post at Meristation.com |

Been playing Ghost in the Shell with the PEOpS soft plug and it runs fine, doesn't look as good as DX or OpenGL but it plays nice and smooth without a hitch. So I would say Ghost in the Shell 100% perfect, Use P.E.Op.S. SoftGPU for correct speed And thanks for posting this OddbOd! ![]() It's been a great resource so far. |

And heeeeeeer's some more (thanks to xylob for lending me some of his games and my brother for giving mine back after so many years) Bust A Groove (NTSC) Has some issues with sound, timing goes off making it difficult to play. Darkstalkers 3 100% perfect, some slight garbage but nothing terrible Megaman X5 100% perfect Megaman X6 100% perfect Road Rash 3D 100% Perfect And if you had the misfortune of spending your money on it R-Types 100% perfect Spiderman 100% perfect Street Fighter Alpha 3 100% perfect Strider 2 100% perfect This is a pretty impressive emulator as far as emulators for any system go, I'm suprised to see so many compatible games. |

sub7th, could you please post wich version of the MMX6 (e.g. pal uk, ntsc usa, etc), wich bios (1001, 7502, etc), wich plugins and wich configurations to make it run? Though i don't have it, many people has reported problems with it, and i'm curious on why it works for some and not for others.

Doh! Well all of mine are US I keep forgetting to put that, sorry. So that would be NTSC, although I'm not sure that there is that big of a difference aside from resolution and refresh. In Japan Megaman is known as Rockman. Anyway, I'm using Pete's OpenGL 2.6 because it handles sprite rendering better, although it works fine with Pete's D3D drivers, but the D3D drivers kinda screw up sprites on my system, I thinks it's an ATI thing but it might be universal. Settings: Fullscreen @ 1280x960 Texture Filtering = none Hi Res Textures = none Gfx Card Ram = (0)Autodetect FPS Limit AutoDetect FPS Limit Offscreen drawing = 2 Framebuffer Effects = 3 Framebuffer upload = 1 Screen Filtering And nothing else. I'm usuing the Eternal 1.41 SPU and ePSXe version 1.6.0 Now since this thread is about games in general and not one game in particular I wouldn't have posted that accept for the fact that I use that setting for almost all of my 2D games. On an ATI card it seems that the Sprite based games have less problems in an openGL environment. Although I supposed the software renderer would work just as well. The OpenGL plugins are superior to the D3D plugins, the D3D ones are for compatibility with older video cards.
