I am having the same problem with a bunch of DDR games...the arrows are off timing bad, almost not playable. I thought it was something with my CD-ROM drive, so I ripped DDR USA into an ISO and I get an error in all the emulators I have tried..."Incorrect MIPS function." (I know this is an ePSXe forum, sorry.) So, maybe something is wrong with my ISO program...oh well, all I can do is try.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who tried to play Konamix on ePSXe. Anyways, after about 3 hours of trying to get ePSXe to work (it always showed a black screen, and the log kept showing something along the lines of 'cannot read cd' or whatever), I finally made it work (3 **** hours..wow..), by browsing through a million websites through google. Ironically, I found most of my answers (HTML help, plus the official website) right in front of and I pretty much screwed myself.
Anways, I finally got it to work (after 100 unsuccesful times, I finally saw something that wasn't black <- black screen). It actually loaded, but it was horrendously slow. As a result, I turned everything down as low as possible, I closed all the other programs, and pretty much tried to make it run as fast as if it were being played in a real PS. Yet I failed, so can someone help me by telling me what I could do to make it run at a normal speed? Thanks. I don't know my exact PC specs but I do know: Pentium 4 CD-Drive x40 (very below average) Graphics Card (not alot of) Ram I'm sure the ram and graphics card made a difference, but is there any way to make it run faster? I have played many new games where I could turn most things to low or below average settings, and it would still run smoothly. So again, can anyone help me? Help would be appreciated. |

run dxdiag in your pc, click on "save info", and attach a txt file with it here, there we would have enough info about your pc specs. Following a similar procudre, go to your plugin's config screen, click on "copy to clipboard" or whatever it's called on it, and post it here too.

Yeah, I've almost gotten it to work now. It seems like now it just loads the arrows too late, but they are on time (not perfect, but playable) but it loads the arrows a bar or two behind so the entire song is late.
I am using Pete's OpenGL2 Plugin with following settings: Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.3 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce FX 5200/PCI/SSE2 Resolution/Color: - 1024x768 Window mode - Internal X resolution: 1 - Internal Y resolution: 1 - Keep psx aspect ratio: on - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - TexWin pixel shader: on - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: on - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 2 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Screen filtering: on - Shader effects: 0/1 - Game fixes: on [00000000] Everything else is default, use the built-in plug-ins for everything and enable the SPU IRQ hack in the sound window. :cuss2: I just wish the arrows were on time. Keep in mind I am doing this on my new Dell... 2.8ghz 256mb ram GeForce FX 5200 PCI I will try it on my low-end later today because i remember you said your computer wasn't very good. 900mhz 128mb ram GeForce FX 5200 AGP (yes, I added it. lol BEfore, I had a VooDoo 5 5500) |

The arrows are not synched in epsxe. Its official. The only emu that can play it just fine its vgs but it discontinued now. Konamix its not supported btw so you will find a lot of problems when trying to run it. Your best chnace would be to try to find the vgs emu bit its doubtful and of course it will have ugly graphics bu it well be perfectly playable.

I had VGS before, but never tried to run DDR on it, but I can get it again. Note to XP users, if you find VGS you also need to find the XP patch and the crack. I believe both are found at aldostools.com but I could be wrong. Ill have to check up on that and get back.
Mini-tutorial to get DDR running in VGS by Superlevel superlevelr@aol.com ------ 1. Get VGS Demo and for XP users, the VGS XP patch from aldostools.com 2. Unzip all in the same folder 3. Download DAEMONTools (link at AldosTools) 4. Mount DDR Image with DAEMONTools 5. Run the VGSVideoPatchXP13 file That's it! More details later if you didn't understand all that, lol. :bounce: Last edited by superlevel; July 9th, 2004 at 00:47. |

well I got it to sync up just fine but it's a weird fix that DOES NOT fix all songs, but they're mostly all synched a little better.
anyways the fix was setting Epsxe to force PAL mode on, the game still runs at 60fps, but the arrows are oddly more synchronized. it may or may not work for you. this also does not fix the black screen when it loads up a level, dunno why it does that. but it doesn't happen in linkmode/nonstop mode. strange indeed. Yes, I'm new here. Lurked around a bit just now decided to register. |
