Yes, but there are some issues IIRC. Although that said I'm not sure if they were fixed on not in 1.6...
More details as to the problem would be helpful.

you can play it, but you'll still need the -oldtiming option in this ePSXe version also. The game will most likely freeze up again with the -oldtiming option on, so do a savestate and turn off oldtiming
