Maybe they can do AF. I know it can't do AA for sure. Don't have it on the other comp anymore to test out.

The TNTs cannot do anti-aliasing. It was first added in nVidia products with essentialy a driver hack for the geForce and geForce 2's making it use the T&L unit to do it (IIRC). I thought you had a different card before your gFFX, hushy.

anyway you got that 5600 ultra eh? i thought you said it wasnt that much of a jump
from the GF3

It's not and I stand by that, but as I mentioned elsewhere in the forums, my and Rich are bastardising all our machines to make a 1.2gig duron server with 512Mb RAM and about half a terabyte of hard disk space running win 2k3, a 2400+ workstation with the geForce FX around a gig of RAM my audigy and a couple of DVD burners, and a 98 machine running a 700Mhz P3 128Mb RAM and my good old Voodoo 5 5500

well i had my other computer with a TNT2 m64/800mhz P3/640mb ram/140GB hard drives...but then i got this whole new computer which came with a FX5600.

i really want something else...im planning on using my old stuff to build a new computer:

-old P4PE + spark 7 HSF
-replace current ram with dual channel and put this gig in there
-when i get a DVD burner stick the DVD-ROM in that other one
-put 5600 in there when i get a better videocard in here

so at least ill have 2 semi decent computers.

Have you changed any of the settings in the nVdiia control panel?

Thumbs up Read Me

in my opinion the PC version ownz the PSX version cause of a few special asspets.

Since its on the PC you can do a number of things... such as:

1: No-CD patch works great only probally is you need the room to store the movies.

2: SEHPATCH There is a extremly well build patch that allows your to switch Cloud and Sephiroth's positions in the game (the story is still the same but its kool to see Cloud as the bad guys and Seph as the good guy). Basically Sephiroth uses Cloud's items and materia, or probally is you cant use any Limits other than Braver and world map is still Cloud. As for the visuals, the in battle models and menu screen looks GREAT. The battle music is also one of my favorites, one of Sephiroth's (jenova) battle music.

3: Nearly infinite memory card spots and the ability to download anyone's game and play it. Its kool to download save games such as Cloud coming off the train w/ max stats ^_^ or Aeris in your game forever O_o.

so to sum it all up.....being able to have a directory and being able to change files makes it possible for ANYTHING....

:guitar: ROCK ON :guitar:

RIGHT CLICK-SAVE AS
FFVII PC CD CRACK
SEPHIROTH PATCH

IMO the playstation is the best no problems with anything just play and you can sit on the couch or where ever.

PC Version is crap unless you have a nvidia card then you'll have crappy graphics with ati cards , unless you wanna play around with drivers and use the tnt2 patch wich i never found one that didnt make everything green. Not to mention the Music is awful and gotta play around with packs too lazy lol

FF7 on emulator can be nice once you get it working properly and that usually takes days it did for me , but it looks good now sounds good just a little lag at the menu.

I have the PC version, but it crashes on every computer I try to play it on, from our family's old Pentium 2 to a brand new Dell Inspiron 5150. Randomly, at the start of or during battles, it freezes up and the whole computer stops responding, requiring a restart. Anyone else experience this?

Anyways, I figure I'll throw this in here, rather than starting a new topic. I admittedly don't know the first thing about video cards, having only recently finally purchased a machine worthy of the name "computer". Could anyone who is much more in the know, as you all seem to be, help me tweak ePSXe to play FF7 on my machine. I've tried the Kazzuya or whatever that came with it, as well as Pete's openGL 1.36... too fast (Aris sprints acrosss the street, and the camera/music goes nuts in the opening cinematic). On the other hand, Pete's OpenGL 2.5 slows it to a crawl. on all of them, the menus have been jumbled and there's random stuff on the screen in the cinematic.

My specs are as follows:
Dell Inspiron 5150
2.66 Ghz Pentium 4
NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 32 MB
512MB RAM

and i'm using the bios 1001, if it helps.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Seems you didn't enable FPS limit.
Most likely you'll find all your answers here.

thanks for the site! I did waht it told me, including downloading a different sound plugin, and ran it from an ISO. It's slightly better, but I get a really annoying slowdown of the sound when moving from area to area, or starting/ending a battle. The only fix for this I've found is to run from an ISO, but since I'm already doing that... anyone know another fix?

Oh, to keep this slightly on-topic, once the PSX version runs smoothly, it has my vote, if for nothing else, the controller (as well as the portability on my laptop). Also, I don't have to worry about this one crashing mid-battle like the PC, and while I haven't used them in this game, save states in general are amazing and I love having them.

I prefer the PC version. You get much better music support (with the original music, thank you very much... it was designed for an AWE64, and it works well with an AWE64. Unfortunately, the LIVEs/Audigys are not quite the same). Keep your old P-200 rig with Voodoo2 and AWE64? Excellent. Then you're ready to go.

Me, at the time I was exactly at the cycle where I wanted an upgrade, looked at what the game I most wanted to play requested for hardware, and collected it all. Worked beautifully. It even had the advantage that whenever Tifa did her "slot machine" limit break, it slowed down so I could get it perfect every time... made her the most powerful character in the group.

Well, there's one more graphical goodie that the PC version of FF7 has over its console sibling.

Behold the attached pictures and be amazed. While they are pretty much self-explanatory, I'll explain it anyway.

The first three pictures of the HI-RES CLOUD MODEL being used IN NORMAL BATTLES!! Additionally, there's no animation bugs WHATSOEVER.
:thewave:

And the second.....well, let's just say that 90% of the field models and ALL the world map models have actual hands now.

yes, please dont triple post. also, if you're having trouble with the game itself, go to qhimm and ask there, or at least make a new thread here, rather than hijacking this thread.
