Umjammer Lammy - Still Won't Work!

I read in the readme for the latest version of epsxe that some problems with anti-mod protected games had been addressed and Umjammer Lammy was one of the games that had been fixed. Unfortunatly, though, the game STILL won't work for me. I've tried running it from an ISO and from the CD but the game STILL freezes right after the loading screen. What needs to be done to get this game working? The readme says that it works now, but I've had no luck. :cuss2:
Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried to see if you need to use a PPF patch?
Spyro 1&2 were also games which now work with 1.6 but you still require a PPF patch to make them run. Hope that may help.

Yeah, I considered doing that and searched around for one. Unfortunatly, I couldn't find one for the NTSC version which is the one I'm trying to run. PAL and NTSC (j) were all I ran into and they didn't work, just as I expected. Thanks for the suggestion though. That is something I should add though, if anyone knows where I can get the PPF Patch for the NTSC version of this game, please pass along a link, I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the US version of the game is antimod protected as I have searched for about an hour and can find no evidence of this - the PAL and JAP NTSC versions are a different story. It would appear the ePSXe readme is referring to the PAL version otherwise it would say US or JAP after the name.

From the "Um Jammer Lammy FAQ"

Quote:
To play an import game on an American Playstation, you normally need a "mod
chip" to get your system to play the Japanese title. However, some recent import
games like Final Fantasy VIII and Um Jammer Lammy will NOT work on an American
Playstation with a normal mod chip. To play this, you have two choices. The
first is to get the new type of mod chip that works with these locked-out games.
Your second choice is if you have a Game Shark accessory for your PSX. If you
have an older mod chip, you can get it to work with Um Jammer Lammy by using the
following Game Shark code on the game:

90000000 0000
D01DA762 1040
801DA762 1000

This code must be on when the game boots up, until the "Nana On-Sha" screen.
After this point, you can turn the effects switch off, though this code will not
mess up your game in any way. If you are unfamiliar with a Game Shark and how to
use it, you can visit the maker, InterAct (www.gameshark.com) or the official-
unnoficial best code site, the GSCCC (www.cmgsccc.com). And remember, this is
for playing the import version. The American one will work just fine on your
systems.
My emphasis added. Whatever the problem is it would appear to be unrelated.

Ok, so the issue here is that I have the japanese version with the anti-mod protection on it. I DID find a place for patches but now that I know I have the japanese version I'll get the right patch and see how it goes. Thanks for the info BTW.

Please could you add an entry to the compatibility list - http://www.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe.php?action=compat - once you have tested the game in its patched state. Unfortunately I suspect it still won't work as this was reported on MeriStation.com (spanish game site)

If the problem can be solved with a ppf patch, you can make your own with peops cdr plugin. This way you make sure it works with your version of the game.

Here are the settings and Plugins that I've been successful at getting it to run with no problems whatsoever.
