enable FPS limit and set it to either 50 for PAL, 60 for NTSC, or auto.

Do you have an dual core processor? Try changing you processor affinity. CRTL + ALT + DEL, then select processes tab, then find epsxe.exe right click and select Set Affinity. Change it to just one of the two cores then ok it.

If you have an AMD dual core this might not work. ePSXe runs fine on my Intel Core Duo, but the AMD x2 just runs too fast even with processor affinity changed to just one core.

I never heard there are problems with X2 processors, i mean, i have tested the emulator with a X2 and it worked fine, just turn on the frame limit on the gpu plugin.

It may be down to something else but no game would run on my x2 at a normal speed. I limited FPS i changed affinity everything, i used the same plugins and setting as on my core duo. Was abit puzzled myself, i'll try and pinpoint the problem if i can.

usually with multi core cpus and epsxe you see slowdown or lag.

I'm having the same issue with Legend of the Dragoon. Normal game play is fine, but then battle scenes are sped up to the point to where attacking is almost impossible, and magic cannot be used.

what version of epsxe are you using and what kind of cpu do you have, single or multi-core?
