Parappa the rapper

I am using a pal version of the game on windows xp. attempting to run it (pete's opengl2 driver 2.7, epsxe spu core 1.5.2) results in the game starting, and the language selection screen correctly functioning. afterwards it freezes for about 5 minutes, before playing the intro movie, then crashing with the message "spec opcode 14 unk (pc 000409b4) (000409a8) (7401,168)". any ideas how to fix this? i have previously run parasite eve 1+2, tenchu 1+2 and bushido blade 1+2 using the same settings, withhout problems

you might need to patch it with a .ppf patch since its a PAL version and/or you might want to try other video plugins or another emulator such as psx. does it give you an opcode error when you play from the disc as well?

yeah, the error was identical both from disk and rom. I have tried running it with pcxe and PSXeven with the same result (although using the same video plugin) and psx (which after a quick google found is meant to play it) just crashes on the bios screen (maybe i an doing it wrong, i have deleted my other isos, so getting clock tower to test it).
