Ape Escape
I know you need an analog controller, and I was wondering if something like this would work: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...93&catid=24673
Would my computer be able to recognize that as a new controller? Would a PS2 controller work fo epsxe? I'm just thinking that this would be my best option, considering that it's hard to find controllers that let you push the analog sticks down (diving in Ape Escape). Also, I'm having quite a bit of trouble with the video. In the intro, it's like two of the same video are playing, just that one's a few seconds behind. I haven't really had any trouble with any other game with this type of thing, and any help would be appreciated. |

just about any usb gamepad made for a pc would work. you can use a real ps/ps2 controller or even an xbox 360 controller with an adapter. btw im not sure if you noticed this but that product you posted seems to be sold out.
as for your video issue, post your video plugin and the settings you are using.

I didn't notice. ^_^;;; But I wasn't looking at that particular item, just wondering that if an adapter of sorts would work.

yes an adapter would work just make sure it is a console controller-to-pc adapter that connects via usb because thats what most people seem to be using if they are not using a game pad that is specifically made for use with a pc. and just to clear things up for me so i have a better understanding of what your issue is, when you said "a few seconds behind" are you talking about something related to the audio being out of sync with the video or are there graphical glitches that you can actually see?

Do you have the lastest drivers you can get for that card? I just noticed that it said Microsoft next to the card.

About the glitches, it's as if two cutscense are playing at once, though one's just a few seconds behind. The audio's fine except for a bit of voice overs. But it seems to work fine with any other game. I'll try the other plugin. =)
And I bought a controller instead. I thought that it wouldn't have the analog buttons (the dive feature as mentioned before) but it did, so I'm all set in that area. |

have you tried playing it from both the disk itself and an image of it to see if the issue exists in each method?

Well, I downloaded it from mininova, and it was an mds+mdf file. So I had to use Alcohol 120% to mount it on a virtual drive... so that's all I can really do with it. At least I think so...
Now the screen just goes black now that I've tried the OpenGL. I tried changing it back but there was no difference, and all my other games that used to work fine now run really slow. |

downloading games is illegal and we do not support piracy. and if you are curious as to what the cause of your issue is, start looking towards the image you downloaded because they are never made correctly and attempting to get them working is a complete waste of time.

im serious when i say that you are wasting your time. when i say that im not saying that because of the rules here, im saying that because its the truth. and i can probably find a copy of this game on ebay or amazon in 10 seconds if i wanted to so its nothing is impossible to find. if i can find a copy of dracula x rondo of blood for the pc engine on amazon, one of the holy grails of video games i might add due to its rarity, you can find ape escape.

I would use eBay, but I don't have a credit card. I might get a prepaid one to get some of the games though. I know how easy it is to find games on there.
Sorry for breaking the rules, and I'll try to find the games. |
