FF7 and FF9 (separate topix)

hi, first of all i'd like to know exactly what r the problems with ff7 in epsxe? i've heard of music timing probs, graphic fx probs.. details, any1? coz i intend to get the psx ver.. i just upgraded to win xp and ff7pc doesnt work anymore (crashes on chocobo racing)

and as for ff9, there's this weird shading prob in the background.. it's not exactly serious but just plain irritating. any1 knows a fix or can at least id the cause?

me specs: athlon TB 1.33, 128mb sdram, nvidia tnt2 m64, creative vibra128.

the shading problem you have can be fixed if you turn on advanced blending. But i don't know if your tnt2 supports that.
Anyway give it a try

nope, doesn't work.. i can see a slight color change but that's about it... the bad shading is still there (it doesnt fade completely to black, can u see?)

i think then there is no way to fix that problem besides changing your graphic card.

You must use the OGL plugin to get perfect shadows.

I have the PC version of FF7 and lol, it crashes at Chocobo Racing! Grr Ekk Ahh! And since you HAVE to race.. poopy!

Yep a crash happens when you try to use the choco races on both win 2K and XP in FF7PC. I think you have to use a win 95 compatiblity layer for that part. I managed to get past it that way. (on 2k mind you)

hi, Raziel, i AM using pete's OGL plugin

and as 4 ff7pc, apparently setting win95 compat doesnt seem 2 work... nvm i shall try it again anyway. still, i need to know the probs in ff7 psx ver. like is the music slowdown really bad/irritating, any graphix probs etc..

oh yeah, epsxe just crashed ff9, seemingly bcoz "the display driver failed to complete a drawing operation" or something.. i am using detonator 21.83

Try turning Keep psx aspect ratio: on.
if that doesn't work I dunno what will. I just set the Plugin to the Nice setting and it runs just fine.
