Graphical error's
Hi everyone
![]() Im a big Tomb Raider fan and i've noticed that when playing any raider game (1-5) in epsxe 1.4.0 that objects seem to "shake" when lara moves-basically when you walk or move at all any objects surrounding her will shake continuoisly untill you stop moving. Things like textures on tree's and walls etc, its hard to explain but i was wondering has anyone else noticed this prob? To be honest its mainly in TR3. Could this be an emulator bug, or a gpu plugin bug? Or perhaps its driver related? i dont think its driver related though because ive been using detonators for ages and have tryed many versions without success. Its a minor prob as the game is still fully functioal using 1.4.0 ![]() ![]() Im using a Geforce 2 gts with detonators 22.80 (the latest ones) Athlon 650 256mb ram Pete's 1.54 (latest) opengl gpu eternal spu 1.10 internal cdr plugin win 98 se Any help appreciated ![]() Bobby. The Tomb Raider games have some problems with the textures and often times they'll stretch and morph awkwardly, especially when seen from certain angles. I haven't really encountered anything seriously wrong with it though, I don't see any "shaking" the likes of what you're describing. However, I've only played the PC versions so I'd guess it has to do something with the playstation console and its 3D rendering pipeline.

Well, Tomb Raider II and III are working fine here. The only thing I can think of that maybe what you are thinking of is no depth buffering for perspective correction i.e. "wavey textures".

Maybe I didn't phrase my self right, sorry. What I meant was the PS GPU doesn't have a depth buffer, neither do the GPU's for the emu's. So no games can use it.

Yea, i understand. It prolly is perspective correction, so he could try an openGL plugin and force his card to do 'GL_NICEST' on the texture correction bit. It could fix the perspective correction...

All tomb Raider games work fine, but once you go underwater, weird graphical errors starts to happen.. Look up when underwater and you will see what I mean..

Yes i think wavey textures would explain it right. ive done a serious of tests and found that yes it only happens on tr3 but the under water problem i could only find on tr2 where backgrounds and objects become err would transparent be the word fivefeet8??
i wonder can pete have a look for his next release as his opengl plugin is so sweet!! (dont use d3d plugin as i have a weird line going from the top to the bottom of the screen on the right hand side of the screen) Cheers for the replies guys ![]() Bobby. |
