is there a way to save on LOD?

Well... I know that the answer is yes, but when I run legend of the dragoon, I can't save a snapshot or just save on the game itself.If I save a snapshot, it can't be loaded, and when I try to save in the game, it freezes.
What could be done?
I use:
epsxe version 1.4
Pete's softgpu 1.54
pete's directsound 1.1
bios 7502
I am running it on a .bin

Try using f4 when saving.
