Hi all,
my name on the Internet is Cygoku, so just call me Cygo! I just bought Valkyrie Profile for PSX to use on emulator such as VGS or ePSXe. But unfortunately, it crash everytime onm each emulator, but at different point of the game. Like, in VGS, it crash when Freya and Lenneth are going in the human world. And in ePSXe, it crash when Odin, Freya and Lenneth are talking 'bout war. Those 2 bugs are coming after starting a new game. So the reason of my new thread, is to ask to other people like me to test their Valkyrie Profile game (or CDr) in both emulator. And tell me where does it crash for you in VGS, and as for ePSXe, try to test with all combination... :eyes: I know, there is a lot of combinations, but just test some on your spare time and come back here to tell wich plugins for CD-Rom, SPU and GPU. And don't forget to mentionned what is your OS and System. And when Pete Soft GPU Plugin will be in open source, I will try to fix it. But we must first know exactly what's the problem with that game. So plz help us out. And be like hik --> TOTALLY COOL when we will resolve that problem. You can also contact me via cygoku@hotmail.com I hope to get a lot of help from testers and programmers who will be able to help us out. Hope to read from all of you soon. Cygoku! |

sorry but Valkyrie Profile is not perfectly emulated in ePSXe and in VGS
(its been like that for 3 versions of ePSXe)although there is a work around for that using bleem and a patched vgs: although I haven't tried it(maybe someone will confirm this) first play it in bleem during the start and when you finally get a chance to save do so and convert it to vgs(there is a zip file around some threads here containing that do a search for it) from ten on use vgs to play it...

Hi, Cygoku. I'm afraid that my reply will also not be very "uplifting". You see, aoshi is right : there is no secret way in any emulator, to make Valkyrie Profile -PERFECTLY- playable. I agree with you, that it would be nice if there was an emulator that could play this game -perfectly-, but believe me, there just isn't any at the moment. Each psx emu has its own issues with this game. VGS crashes on you because it can not display the horizon of the 3D map properly, while every (?) other emu can not emulate the timing of the 2D-battles correctly
...I'm sorry to dissapoint you - believe me, I KNOW how great this game is, but for now, you'll just have to settle with the "harsh" (as you call it) way to play this game.... well, it's not THAT hard, actually, and above all, it works. Try taking a look at the following threads... ...in this thread you'll find some detailed info on how VP works with bleem 1.5b, ePSXe, FPSE, and VGS... & also a way to make it work on VGS (it's NOT a step-by-step guide, but it's detailed...) ...in this thread you'll find detailed info on how VP works with PCSX - a very promising emulator in the "Valkyrie Profile area" ...in this thread you'll find my VGS memory card, which includes a save at the earliest point possible, and also Takuma's ePSXe memory card, and info about his experience with VP & ePSXe.... ...that's all I can offer you, ....good luck

Oh ok I get it now. You mean that VP use 3D and 2D scene at the same time. And each emulator have prblem of their own with both graphical system. Jeez were not lucky. Or must I say VP isn't a lucky game.
And btw, after some1 mentionned PCSX in my other trhead from "Misc Emulator" stating that it will probably be able to fix those problem, I went download it of course. But here it crash everytime I run it. Just after the program ask me to configure it for the first time. "Sweet Jeezus" I'm not lucky! Cygoku! |

Forgive me Cygoku but........Im having a hard time understanding your englsih.....
Quoted by sights VGS crashes on you because it can not display the horizon of the 3D map properly, while every (?) other emu can not emulate the timing of the 2D-battles correctly There is a way around this. Go to www.cmgsccc.com to find a code that will make the whole world map black. This will disable the 3D map problem. Also in phase 2 on VGS, you need to switch back to bleem as it crashes there for some unknown reason.....
