FF9 : new game => black screen ...

Hello,

I'm sick and tired to try to make FF9 work on my PC.
When I choose New Game in main menu, a black screen
appears ..... and ..... nothing else !

I use a PAL french version of FF9 (ISO patched with
PARADOX french patch) and petes softs.

Any idea ??

Here is my gpu spec. :

rominet, this problem is normal. This can be fix by running epsxe configurator first. There you can find an option to play mdecs enable it. By defaut it is disable on epsxe 1.4. I hope this helps..

Try pressing f4, f4 after you choose start in the title screen.. Its the magic button for many things..

Sorry Sephir0th but what is the configurator ? Is it the Config option
in the epsxe menu bar (plugins config) or another specific program ?
Maybe my question seems strange, but I have not finded the mdecs
option in the plugins config ...

This option is no longer in ePSXe's configs, it's a reminescence from older versions. The "configurator" he's talking about is "ePSXeCutor" a frontend for ePSXe you can download at NGEmu.

Ok, I have downloaded and used PSXexeCutor to lauch ff9 with epsxe mdec option enabled. But It doesn't solves my problem ...

always a black screen after "New Game" ........

Please, help me !
